Liberated in the three joys, clarity, and non-conceptual self-born wisdom, thereby manifesting the result of practice: the three vajras of body, speech, and mind. Among these, the first is the guidance on meditating on bliss, which is divided into two parts. The first part is the key to dispelling wrong paths, practicing the vital energy channels: One's own body is like a rainbow body of a deity, in the center of the clear central channel, possessing four characteristics, with the red Rōmā and white Kyoungmā on the left and right, filled with dust and the moon. Look at the lower end entering the central channel. Therefore, the key to the body is to sit in the vajra posture with legs crossed, the spine straight, hands placed on the knees, and gaze slightly downward from straight ahead towards the space between the eyebrows. The rest is the same as usual. Visualize your ordinary body as dissolving into the sky like a rainbow, without fixation. Visualize your own body's outer form as Vajrasattva, with a rainbow-like body, the inner space empty, clear, and unobstructed. Once this is clear, in the center of the body, slightly closer to the back, is the Avadhūti channel, straight like the trunk of a tree, bright like a sesame oil lamp, radiating light, red as if boiled with madder juice, and very thin and transparent like a lotus stalk, possessing four characteristics. Its thickness is about the size of a medium arrow shaft, the upper end touching the Brahma aperture, and the lower end located four fingers below the navel. To its right is the red Rōmā channel, filled with dust, and to its left is the white Kyoungmā channel, filled with the moon. These two channels are four times thinner than the central channel, curving upwards, with their tips inserted into the two nostrils at the space between the eyebrows. These two channels, together with the central channel, merge into three, and their lower ends are slightly longer than the central channel, descending and entering the central channel. Visualize that all diseases, evil spirits, sins, and obscurations are completely purified, and exhale three times slowly and deeply. Visualize that the essence of all that is stable, moving, samsara, and nirvana, in the form of wind, passes from the two nostrils through the Rōmā and Kyoungmā channels, and enters the central channel from below the navel. Then inhale an appropriate amount of air, hold it naturally, gently, and moderately below the navel, and focus your attention on the inside of the central channel. If you feel slightly uncomfortable, relax a little; if you cannot bear it, exhale slowly from the two nostrils to the extent that the downy hairs do not move. In this way, learn the practice of the vital energy channels with four characteristics. During the recitation above
