It is also said that Shantideva said, "All the merits accumulated in thousands of kalpas, such as offerings to the Sugatas, are destroyed by a single moment of anger." Therefore, all sinful and unwholesome actions should be abandoned like food mixed with poison, because they are the creators of one's own suffering. Moreover, it is crucial to transform the unspecified into virtuous actions. If this virtuous action is seized by the realization of no self-nature, it is called unpolluted virtue or virtue in accordance with liberation, because it becomes the cause of supreme liberation. Just as a good harvest naturally leads to strong roots, all temporary happiness will naturally arise, so one should diligently practice. On the other hand, polluted virtue that is unrelated to the path of liberation is called virtue in accordance with merit, which only brings temporary worldly happiness and will eventually be exhausted, like a short-lived dream, it is meaningless. Why is this so? Because when the seeds of the polluted virtuous deeds of Brahma and Indra, etc., the universal monarchs, are exhausted, they die like butterflies scattered by the wind, without knowing where they will be reborn. Like a dream, the joys and sorrows, victories and defeats in samsara can only be experienced in turn, and cannot be permanently controlled by one person, making them unreliable. In short, it is as changeable as a leaking bucket and cannot be constant. Samsara itself is impermanent from the moment it appears. The Letter to a Friend says, "Even Indra, who is revered by the world, falls to the earth due to the power of karma. Even having become a universal monarch, one becomes a slave in samsara." It also says, "Even the great pleasures of the heavenly realms, and Brahma having attained the bliss of detachment, again becomes fuel for the fires of Avici, constantly enduring uninterrupted suffering." Thus it is said. Furthermore, if one is born in the three lower realms due to the three types of polluted unwholesome actions, great, medium, and small, then there is no need to mention the suffering one will experience. Even if one only sees or hears of the suffering of these evil realms, one will be unable to bear the suffering due to extreme fear, let alone experience it oneself? In this regard, the noble Nagarjuna said, "Remembering one day in the hells of extreme heat and cold,
