The mind and subsequent consciousness act on the object. The afflicted mind is the function of consciousness that makes judgments of acceptance and rejection. The five sense consciousnesses are the five non-conceptual consciousnesses such as seeing form. Among them, the aspect of merely seeing, hearing, feeling, and sensing is non-conceptual, so it is the five sense consciousnesses. From that, individually knowing is the mind consciousness. On top of that, the appearance of acceptance and rejection is the afflicted mind. Therefore, the five sense consciousnesses alone do not accumulate karma, but the afflicted mind accumulates karma on the Alaya consciousness. The Alaya consciousness is their basis, the non-conceptual, neutral aspect. Form is the nature of being able to be transformed, divided into four causal forms and eleven resultant forms, totaling fifteen. Among them, the four causal forms are earth, water, fire, and wind, the four elements. The eleven resultant forms are, as stated in the Abhidharmakosha, "Form is the five senses and the five objects, and non-revealing form." Therefore, form, sound, smell, taste, touch, the five objects; eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, the five senses; and non-revealing form, totaling fifteen. Non-revealing form is unobstructed form possessing the four characteristics of state, essence, continuity, and cause, such as considering the Pratimoksha vows as form. Feeling is the nature of experiencing, the three of pleasure, pain, and neutrality; pleasure arises from agreeable objects, pain arises from disagreeable objects, and neutrality arises from the intermediate. As stated in the Vinaya Sutra, "If one sees a pleasing person, the mind of attachment arises. If one overtly harms, the mind of hatred arises. Towards the intermediate ones, ignorance increases." Perception is the nature of apprehending the characteristics of objects, divided into large, small, and medium, the three. Volition is the nature of manifestly constructing, the fifty-one mental factors. If these are summarized, they are: feeling, perception, thought, contact, and attention; these are the five omnipresent. Desire, conviction, mindfulness, concentration, and wisdom; these are the five object-specific. Faith, non-carelessness, pliancy, non-attachment, non-hatred, non-ignorance, equanimity, shame, embarrassment, non-harm, and diligence; these are the eleven virtuous mental factors. Anger, resentment, concealment, vexation, jealousy, stinginess, deceit, cunning, pride, harm, shamelessness,

Unrelated dullness, disbelief, laziness, carelessness, forgetfulness, non-mindfulness, and distraction, these are the twenty near afflictions. Sleep 1, regret 2, seeking 3, examining 4, other transformations four, like this. From that, subtracting feeling and perception, the remaining forty-nine, names and signs, etc., are all the actions that generate samsara and nirvana. Why? Among the five omnipresent ones, why are feeling and perception placed in other aggregates? The Treasury says: Because they are the root of disputes, and the cause of samsara, and the reason for gradual rebirth, among mental phenomena, feeling and perception are separately established as aggregates. So it is said. Some say that in other treatises, the order of the five aggregates is mentioned starting from form, why is consciousness mentioned first here? The commentary "Sun Lion" says: Outsiders consider the gross meaning of what is grasped to be the main thing, but here it is considered that the root of grasping, the fundamental form of consciousness, is the main thing. Therefore, this shows that the common vehicle that has been transformed from outsiders is more excellent. So it is said. Second, those ways of uniting with the deities, there are two: refutation and establishment. The first is, Je Khon said: The consciousness here is not the eight consciousnesses, but the five sense consciousnesses. If it is considered to be the eight consciousnesses, then in the continuum of the immovable one, because there is the alaya consciousness, it would be the fault of not being an arhat, and because there is afflicted mind, there would be the fault of not being someone who has abandoned the two obscurations, although it is said like that, but it is only in accordance with the treatises of the common vehicle. It is not appropriate here, if that is the case, the Thupa of the hungry ghost, there is no desire in your continuum, because you are a person who has abandoned the exhaustion of the three poisons, because you are a Buddha, a noble one. Because everything is treated equally, and in this very treatise it says: Everything without exception is Dharma, it is not other than the Buddha himself. And in the "Extensive Explanation" it says: The king of consciousness is the glorious Vajrasattva, the alaya consciousness is completely pure. Etc., according to the tenets of this vehicle, the alaya consciousness itself is the wisdom of the Dharmadhatu, it is pure from the beginning, therefore it is not considered something to be abandoned and an antidote, because it transcends bondage and liberation. The second is our own system, the collection of thoughts is the five aggregates.
