There are two responses. The first is: Lha-je Lan Shakya Zang said: Although the words "explanation" and "hearing" are different, the meaning is the same when the teacher explains to the retinue and the retinue hears from the teacher. In this way, the fault of "hearing" being encompassed by "explanation" is established. Also, you, the lama, and Je Drophukpa, said: This is a distinction in the teachings of the two bodies (Sambhogakaya and Nirmanakaya). Because the Sambhogakaya does not speak in words, it cannot be heard by the ears, so it is said to be "explanation"; and because the Nirmanakaya speaks in words, it becomes an object of "hearing." This is also unreasonable, because if it is a tantra spoken by the Sambhogakaya, the word "explanation" will also appear, so it does not encompass all situations. The second point is to respond to oneself: When Vajrapani gathers, he himself promises to be the teacher, saying: What I explained in Akanishta before, I will explain here again. And, in the extensive commentary of "Sunlight Lion," it says that the word "explanation" shows that there is no distinction between the retinue and the teacher. And so on. Also, in "Sparkha," it says: This is an uncommon beginning, because it is different from other tantras. Because it is said so. Third, the perfection of the teacher has two points: First, the nature of the teacher is explained from "Tathagata" to "without difference." Teacher Samantabhadra, has the property, is called Tathagata, because you have the nature of maturing in suchness. Because you have matured by being free from the clinging that obscures the meaning of suchness, and because its essence has manifested, it is called "gone." As it says in the Vajra: The gone in suchness, is said to be liberated from various clingings. And, in the Later Tantra, it says: Why gone in suchness, therefore called Tathagata. Because it is said so. This has the property, you have the qualities that are spontaneously accomplished without seeking, therefore it is called "perfectly enlightened." Because your self-born wisdom has nothing to be abandoned, so it is not mistaken, unchanging, and not deceiving, it is "perfect"; everything self-appears as the fruition body and wisdom, so there is nothing to be abandoned and obtained, it abides in original perfection, therefore it is called so. This has the property, you have the nature of wisdom expanding without end or middle, therefore it is called "Buddha." Incompatible

And because the qualities of remedy and non-separation reach the ultimate, that is why it is said so. As it is said in the 'Branch': Ignorance itself is clear wisdom, Afflictions and suffering are supreme enlightenment. Therefore, it (the object being referred to) possesses the nature of having no permanent self-nature, hence it is called Bhagavan. Because it subdues the four maras and possesses the fruit of great qualities. As it is said in the 'Vajra Sequence': Subdues the four maras and so on with the confidence of knowledge, Qualities such as the five bodies are beyond expression, Its own nature cannot be pointed out. Therefore, it (the object being referred to) although you have realized the meaning of equality, because you possess the nature of being free from the field of activity, it is called great enjoyment. Because you enjoy all the dharmas of samsara and nirvana by being free from attachment to grasping at the enjoyer and the enjoyed, therefore you are more excellent than others. As it is said in the 'Immortal Treasury': Great, supreme, immeasurable, And this work of skill, symbol, and joy, Is extremely wonderful to do, Therefore it is said to be great. Therefore, it (the object being referred to) you have the nature of all the Tathagatas, the name of the nature liberated from one and many, the nature of body, speech, mind, and vajra, there is a reason for this. Because you, as the basis of all the Sugatas in all directions and times, from the aspect of being the basis, are the five bodies; from the aspect of expression, are the five speeches; from the aspect of unwavering mind, are the five minds; from the aspect of fulfilling needs, are the five qualities; from the aspect of accomplishing the benefit of others, are the five activities. These twenty-five result-dharmas are neither one nor many, their nature is indivisible, their characteristics are unborn and unceasing, their essence is unconditioned, they are of the nature of vajra, and their taste is the same, so it is said. Therefore, it (the object being referred to) you possess the nature of being neither different nor non-different from all the samsaric dharmas encompassed by the three realms and three times. Because both you and such samsaric dharmas, in the relative truth, are like illusions of awareness, so they are not different; in the ultimate truth, the nature of mind is unborn, so they are not non-different. And because they transcend the expression of both truths, they possess an inseparable nature. Second, explaining the nature of the teacher, there is no front or back.
