If someone asks, are there no differences between the ultimate views of both Sutra and Tantra? The answer is: In the Sutra Vehicle, the very subtle obscuration is the combination of the three, white, red, and wind, internally, which causes knowledge to appear as the two-fold phenomena of samsara. In reality, the very subtle obscuration of meditative absorption, which clings to the antidote to purification, must be purified solely through the Tantra Vehicle. The supreme antidote for purifying it is diamond-like samadhi, but it relies on the five internal manifest enlightenments. Purifying the white aspect is the Body Vajra, purifying the red aspect is the Speech Vajra, and purifying knowledge is the Mind Vajra, which is the path to enlightenment as the essence of the three Vajras. However, in the Sutra path, it is only said to be diamond-like samadhi, without explaining how it is. Moreover, on top of the above view, the co-emergent, unchanging, great bliss wisdom is distinguished because it is not said to be the uncommon view of Tantra. As it is said in the Vajra Mirror: "The self-born, uncontaminated wisdom body, the indestructible bindu of great bliss, pervading all like the sky, is the nature of the non-abiding Dharmakaya." And as it is said in the Kalachakra: "Therefore, the unmoving, co-emergent bodily bliss spoken by the Lord relies on the Tantra Vehicle." Therefore, it is said so. Secondly, the nature or characteristics of the Tantric view are: the nature of mind that does not touch any extreme, spontaneously accomplished as the essence of the seven treasures from the beginning, is the ultimate truth of the supreme truth; and its own power manifests as the mandala of the vessel and its contents, body and wisdom, the self-arisen supreme truth is inseparable and free from the realm of activity. As it is said in the Collection of Aspects: "The two aspects of the supreme are of inseparable meaning, no matter how the names and numbers are shown, in reality, it transcends speech and thought." Thirdly, the meaning of the word is: it comes from the word दृष्टि (dṛṣṭi, Devanagari script, drishti, meaning "view"), which means view, the true meaning that accords with reality, the wisdom that is ascertained through seeing. As it is said in the Extensive Treatise: "Seeing and the seer are not different, by erecting the lamp of wisdom, all the realms of the ten directions can be seen." Fourthly, in terms of classification: there are two types, establishing through reasoning, and classifying various names and grasping the essential points of the meaning. The first is, as it is said in the Stages of the Path: "The meaning of the ground and the established reasoning." Therefore, it is the three dharmas of

It should be understood from the 'result'. Whatever is the measurable dharma, whatever is the reason for measuring it, thus is the tenet of measurement. The first point is the measurable thing itself, incidentally dispelling doubts and avoiding disputes. The first point is, just as it says here: 'All the deluded dharmas of the world.' etc., and as it says in the 'Lamrim': 'Examine the appearances of attachment to samsara and nirvana as real.' and as it says in the 'Pramanavarttika': 'Measure on the two objects of observation.' etc. The second point contains two doubts: there is nothing measurable, and it is impossible to measure. The first doubt is: taking the dharma summarized by two things as measurable to measure, is it measuring nirvana? Or is it measuring samsara? If it is like the first case, the self-character of nirvana is hidden from the initial karma and the intellect of adhimukti-carya. Because it is not the object of us, it cannot be used as a measurable object. Just as it says in the 'Pramanavarttika': 'Since nirvana is not an object, how can it be a measurable object?' and 'If you measure the appearance of nirvana, then it is hidden from the beginning.' etc. If you say that you are measuring the mind that is attached to nirvana, that is also unreasonable, because nirvana has become the object of a confused consciousness, so you cannot be attached to it. If you are attached, it becomes an imputed dharma of samsara, then it is not nirvana. Just as it says earlier: 'The mind is attached to nirvana, that itself cannot be nirvana.' etc. If it is like the second case, is it measuring the self-character of samsara as just an appearance? Or is it measuring the imputed consciousness? The first case is unreasonable. Atisha said: 'How can you deny the appearance itself? Because it arises dependently. Here, it is necessary to eliminate the attachment to the cause of suffering as real.' Because it cannot be denied by reason, if it is denied, there will be a fault. Because it will block the accumulation of merit of the path, and block the flow of wisdom of knowing as it is. So what should be measured? You should measure the present moment of consciousness, each to its own appearance of attachment. Just as it says in the 'Pramanavarttika': 'That consciousness is the momentary consciousness, that also needs to be observed each to its own.' etc. If so, since consciousness is transformed into different discriminating wisdoms, there is nothing measurable, is that so? Even if consciousness temporarily transforms into discriminating wisdom with discrimination, because the nature of attachment has not been purified, it is still possible to generate imputed objects, and it is still possible to generate appearances of attachment. So there is no fault in that.
