Here it says: "Non-realization and wrong realization, partial realization, and not realizing the truth itself." Thus, non-realization refers to the mundane and materialistic schools of thought. Wrong realization refers to the eternalist and annihilationist schools of thought. Partial realization refers to the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas. Not realizing the truth itself refers to the views of the Madhyamaka and Chittamatra schools. Secondly, the necessity of truly realizing the nature of reality, the necessity of not being bound by whatever actions one engages in, and the necessity of becoming the actual cause for attaining Buddhahood. Firstly, it says in the extensive text: "How is the nature of reality? I shall truly realize it." Secondly, it says in that text: "Through realizing skillful means and wisdom, one will not be harmed by the three poisons and five poisons." Thirdly, it says in that text: "If one realizes the meaning of self-awareness and wisdom, one will attain the eternal state free from birth and death." Furthermore, to briefly explain how the Madhyamaka and Chittamatra schools do not realize the truth itself, there are two systems: the Chittamatra and Madhyamaka. Firstly, within the Chittamatra, there are two sub-schools: the true-aspect Chittamatra, which asserts that all phenomena appearing as white, red, and various colors, including consciousness, are real appearances of one's own mind; and the false-aspect Chittamatra, which asserts that the appearances of consciousness are false. Firstly, the appearance of objects is merely the outward manifestation of one's own consciousness. For example, it is like the reflection of a jewel hanging on the branch of a jeweled tree by a pond, where the appearance of the jewel manifests outwardly in the water. This school is further divided into three: those who assert that the number of appearances is equal to the number of consciousnesses; those who assert that appearances and consciousness are like a cracked egg; and those who assert that appearances and consciousness are diverse but non-dual. In the first view, when hearing a sound, only the consciousness that grasps the sound arises, and the consciousness that grasps forms and other objects does not arise. The consciousness that corresponds to the object arises, and no other consciousness arises, thus asserting that there are as many consciousnesses as there are appearances. The second view asserts that the various appearances of external objects also arise from consciousness, and the consciousness that grasps these appearances also arises from the mind. Like a cracked egg, appearances and consciousness, object and subject, arise in the same mind. When grasping an object now, one consciousness of external appearance and one consciousness of internal grasping arise simultaneously, but although they appear as two due to beginningless habitual tendencies, in reality, it is self-aware wisdom.

Because there is nothing established other than it, it is like breaking an egg. If there is only one external aspect consciousness, then when one apprehending consciousness arises at that time, will the two conceptualizations occur simultaneously? No, they will not, because that aspect consciousness is non-conceptual. This is their view. The third is that although the appearances of external objects are various, the internal apprehending consciousness knows them with one consciousness, like a monkey quickly entering a castle, causing dizziness at the four gates and looking around. One consciousness enters the five gates and cognizes the objects. Even when cognizing, the appearance and the consciousness are not different from the nature of one mind, just as the appearances in a dream and the apprehender appearing as itself are not different from the consciousness of one sleep. This is their view. The second is the Aspect-False school, where the appearances of external objects are false habitual tendencies that appear as mistaken to consciousness, but are not true for consciousness. The consciousness that measures it also measures it through falsity, not through true experience, because both the object and the consciousness are considered to be merely the false nature of mistaken appearances. This is divided into two: those who believe that appearances are tainted and those who believe that appearances are untainted and pure. The first is that the various appearances that appear now and the consciousness that measures them are both merely appearances of the mind's defilements. In reality, there is only the quality of the non-dual realm of wisdom, and nothing is established as consciousness. The Buddha's unconditioned Dharmakaya is the non-dual wisdom itself, which is the stainless Suchness. In the conditioned state, there is a slight latent defilement, so mistaken appearances are seen, such as seeing illusions and having back pain. This is their view. Now, in the mind, afflictions and wisdom are mixed, and by removing the false defilement of the afflictions, the unconditioned pure wisdom is manifested. This is their view. The pure ones believe that neither appearances nor consciousness are established even as false. Those who are strongly attached, because they are accustomed to thinking about young women, can clearly see their faces without having to think about it. Therefore, the appearances of external objects appear in various colors, and both the minds that measure them do not exist.
