There are systems that assert seeing, systems that assert seeing with continuity, and systems that assert seeing in the absence of a place, self-illuminating, free from the two extremes. The first includes stating the assertion and refuting it. First, in general, there are two kinds of Buddhas: those with intrinsic nature and those with imputed nature. The intrinsic nature is the Dharmakaya, like the continuity of a fire that burns what is to be burned ceasing to exist after the combustible is exhausted. In the space where all gross and subtle obscurations have been abandoned, the wisdom that is the antidote to abandonment also dissolves into the expanse. Because the continuity of the wisdom of the support and the supported is severed, one is liberated from the terms of the seen and the seer, so one does not see. The imputed nature, the two Rupakayas, are said to appear to those to be trained merely as the result of the undiminished accumulation of merit from the past or the force of aspiration. Second, if that is the case, does that wisdom itself cease from itself, or is it ceased by another antidote? If it is the former, then in the state of Buddhahood, the wisdom of knowing the suchness and the extent of seeing for the benefit of sentient beings should not exist, because the continuity of wisdom is severed. This is the thesis. It is not possible to accept this, because even in the common scriptures it says, "Within suchness and extent, wisdom enters into seeing." And in the Compendium it says, "Without wisdom, there is no increase or decrease of Bodhi, and the Buddhadharma, like the ocean, would not exist." And so on, many scriptures contradict it. If it is the latter, did the antidote of Vajra-like Samadhi sever the continuity, or did something else sever it? This is too extreme, please be careful! The second includes stating the assertion and refuting it. First, in the state of Buddhahood, after the Vajra-like Samadhi has abandoned the obscurations, there is wisdom with continuity as a result. Moreover, from that, the conventional wisdom sees the object and the subject. This is established by the scriptures that previously refuted the severance of continuity. Second, if that is the case, then the wisdom of the state of Buddhahood becomes a mistaken consciousness, because it takes the conventional as its object, like the consciousness of an ordinary being. Someone might say that it only takes appearance as its object, but does not grasp it as truly existent. Then, the wisdom of the state of Buddhahood becomes a one-sided abandonment, although it has abandoned the wrong view that is mistaken about the object of attachment, it has not abandoned the wrong view that is mistaken about the object of appearance.

Because of the ground. If you think so, the sutra says, "From the supreme wisdom of selflessness, because there is no appearance, it is not seen." This is contradictory. Third, refuting reality and arguments. First, do not slander that wisdom is cut off, nor falsely say that it is not cut off. Separated from these two extremes, in the manner of self-nature, see without conceptualization and self-illumination. Therefore, from this very thing: "Emptiness, selflessness, all-knowing, self-awareness mind, without object and subject, transforms the power of memory." And in the Samadhiraja Sutra it says: "The Dharma of Nirvana has no Dharma, because it does not exist, so it will never not exist. Those with conceptualization say existence and non-existence, observing in this way will not pacify suffering." Second, from the three observations of object, non-object, and non-duality, if you see it as an object, then the Buddha's wisdom becomes one with grasping and holding, because the object and the subject arise. If you think so, then it becomes an impure continuum, because there is grasping and holding, just like sentient beings. Also, if you do not see it as an object, then the eyes should also hear sounds. Therefore, if you think so, it is obvious. Furthermore, the Buddha himself should be confused, because he sees something that does not exist, just like someone with jaundice sees the color of a conch shell. It is also unreasonable to say that it is seen without distinction, because the object of seeing and the subject of seeing are contradictory, just like the eye sees the eye. Answer: Je Drophukpa said, "If you understand it in a narrow sense, then abandoning the slander of object and non-object, like the image in a mirror, see all dharmas without conceptualization and self-illumination. As it says in the Extensive Sutra: 'Without conceptual thought, he clearly knows everything.' Therefore, if you understand it in a broad sense, then also see it as an object, because all dharmas and mental events included in the three times are clear and unobstructed, like an amalaka fruit placed in the palm of the hand. Also, see it as non-object, because no matter how it appears, it is empty of true self-nature. See it without distinction, because for the nature of knowable objects, the sentient beings who are the object of compassion, and the Buddha who is the all-knowing one who arises, neither of them are clung to. So, what will that compassion become? That is unconditioned compassion, which is spoken of in order to protect from all suffering. So, compassion for whom
