The transmission of the Dharma of Ma Shing. First, from the "Later Tantra" translated by Gos: "The teacher and others are well distinguished, and the five perfections are spoken of." Therefore, when the teacher and retinue gather, the meaning of the tantra will surely appear. Therefore, having the five perfections is the introduction. Why is it called the introduction? Because from the sound of "Dana," for those who doubt whether it is the Buddha's word, telling the history of the five perfections gives certainty; and because what is to be discussed is the cause or basis for the appearance of the meaning of the tantra. There are two types of divisions: uncommon introductions and common introductions. The first is combined with the path of means, like explaining inner secrets. The second is the introduction of the Sambhogakaya, or the introduction of the special origin of the tantra, and the introduction of the wrathful deities who teach for the sake of taming beings, the introduction of the Nirmanakaya taming beings, or what is known as the introduction of the general teachings. Second, the cause of raising the introduction, from the "Heart Drop": "The teacher gives and the retinue asks, from the occasion the introduction arises, the teacher and the retinue, whatever becomes the cause of giving and asking, that is not fully understood in the speech." Therefore, the teacher and retinue, through the combination of questions and answers, have not fully understood the points where the meaning of the tantra corresponds to the minds of those to be tamed. Why is it called raising the introduction? Because what is to be discussed is the meaning of the tantra, and what prompts the discussion is the raising, which is the cause of the emergence of the teachings. There are two types of divisions: uncommon and common raising of the introduction. The first is when the teacher, father and mother, together initiate the retinue into profound empowerment, welcoming them with a combination, grasping the parts of the two non-dualities of means and wisdom, and raising the discussion, there are three. The second is when the retinue asks to explain the tantra for the benefit of others, thereby arousing the teacher's compassion, and he is pleased to explain it through direct and indirect means. Third, the fruit is to fully understand the meaning of the tantra, which is divided into two: generally explaining the classification of the three tantras, and specifically explaining the conditions of the path, the objects of the tantra. The first, from the "Later Tantra": "The tantra is said to be continuous, from means and cause comes the fruit." Therefore, in general, it is called tantra because of its continuous meaning, and divisions.

Thus. What is to be realized is the continuum of the ground or cause; what realizes and progresses is the continuum of the means or path; and where it is ultimately perfected is the continuum of the result. The first is: "Without bondage, without liberation, the Buddha Dharma is spontaneously perfect from the beginning." It is said. In the extensive commentary: "All self-aware Bodhicitta, this is said to be the measure of scripture." Thus, the ground is the reality without bondage or liberation, the self-aware Bodhicitta, the indivisible truth, free from the realm of action, which is inherently present. It is the essence of the Sugata, the naturally abiding lineage, the Alaya-jnana, and the basis to which terms such as the defiled Tathagatagarbha apply. This, without being aligned with any of the three aspects of ground, path, and result, is generally posited as nature or reality. In relation to purifying temporary defilements and manifesting through the power of removal, it is posited as path and result. Why does it become the continuum of the ground or cause? Because it is either grasped or not grasped by the conditions of means, it accomplishes samsara and nirvana. Therefore, it is the source or cause of both samsara and nirvana. Moreover, from sentient beings to Buddhas, it continuously exists without changing its nature, so it is a continuum. In the Three Successive [Teachings]: "All phenomena of the two truths, because they arise completely, are called the ground." Thus it is said. Lord Maitreya says: "As it was before, so it is later, it is the unchanging Dharma-nature." Thus. Differentiating: Acharya Vimala says, in the Third Successive [Teaching]: "The first has two aspects: the ground of essence and the ground of imputation." Thus, the Dharma-nature of mind, the naturally pure essence of the Sugata, is the ground for purifying defilements, like a precious jewel, which is the ground of the essence of reality. False clinging together with its object is the defilement to be purified, like mud, which is a temporary appearance of non-existence, so it is said to be the ground of imputed delusion. Clinging itself is the cause of accomplishing samsara, and although it is merely continuous until the activity of consciousness ceases, it is an artificial, temporary phenomenon, so it is not the causal continuum that becomes the proximate cause of the result. The non-affirming negation of emptiness, which is analyzed by reason, is also not a characteristic of the causal continuum.
