Even without shortening, clearly visualize the witnesses of Bodhicitta like a refuge field, and vow to train in these two minds, which is to take vows and Bodhicitta through rituals. This generation of Bodhicitta is important for convincing the mind, so it is more important to contemplate (train) than to accumulate numbers of recitations. As said in the biography of Atisha, praising Lama Serlingpa, even if we cannot generate high (Bodhicitta) from the beginning in our minds, "The root of Dharma is good intention, and the gateway to Dharma is pure hearing," etc., it is very important to generate even a little good intention. There are also large and small distinctions in this. Good intentions that are biased towards family and friends are attachment and aversion. Compassion and attachment, faith and joy, etc., are only similar in the appearance of the mind, so it is easy to confuse them. Claiming to be a Bodhisattva without generating even one good intention is a boastful Bodhisattva. After Bodhicitta has arisen in the mind, training in the four immeasurables will increase it, so train in giving and taking happiness and suffering. This contains the essence of the practice of loving-kindness and compassion, and the way of it is: In this world, all unpleasant things such as sins and sufferings arise from the mind that cherishes "I" as precious. All good things such as happiness arise from cherishing sentient beings. The teacher Buddha was initially no different from us, but we have not been able to abandon self-grasping, so we have not yet been liberated from Samsara and are still suffering. The teacher abandoned himself and trained in cherishing sentient beings, so he became the refuge of all. If we could transfer the time we cherish ourselves to sentient beings for a short time, we would have become Buddhas long ago. After thinking about such benefits and harms, we must train. Combining giving and taking with breathing is to generate and become accustomed to experiencing loving-kindness and compassion separately, so that each breath completes one practice. For beginners, this is just a wish. The way of it is, when exhaling, release your body, possessions, and the merits of the three times along with your breath, touching all sentient beings. By the blessings and truth of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, visualize that each sentient being obtains happiness, whatever the cause and effect of happiness, obtains infinite happiness with defilements and without defilements. When inhaling, suffering

Through the subtle and coarse causes and effects all dissolving into oneself, cultivate the joy of thinking that all sentient beings are free from suffering, and recite the combined mantra and visualization twenty-one times or more, as much as possible. Finally, rest in non-objectification. During breaks between sessions, do not separate from the mind that desires to attain perfect enlightenment. Cultivate loving-kindness and compassion, taking whatever sentient beings you see as the object. Especially train the mind towards accumulating things that belong to the side of sin, and actions that are used as causes of suffering. Do not forget to cultivate joy in having any kind of happiness, and so on. Check each session or each day whether you have correctly abandoned and adopted. Regarding discipline, if the root discipline is not violated, then other faults are easy to avoid. Abandon actually abandoning the aspiration for enlightenment, or abandoning any sentient being. It is said that the fault of abandoning the aspiration for enlightenment is more serious than killing all sentient beings in the three realms at once, so be careful. The main aspect of conduct is to practice the six perfections. That is, whatever virtuous deeds are done as a cause for perfect enlightenment must be complete with the six perfections. For example, in the case of prostration, the final dedication and the offering of doing as the lama said, that is, the offering of acting according to the command, is the supreme of generosity. The faults of both thought and action should be avoided with a mind of renunciation. Enter with joy, abandoning the impatience of thinking that this difficulty is meaningless. From the depths of your heart, remember the qualities of the Three Jewels, focus your mind on them, and let your body and speech follow them. With the wisdom of realizing selflessness, even if the three spheres are not established in their own nature, place your mind on the appearance that is clear and yet non-existent, or seek wisdom by distinguishing the boundaries of what to abandon and adopt. If these are taken over by the mind of enlightenment, then they are the six perfections that have characteristics. Therefore, even reciting one mani stone must be complete with these. Uncommon preliminaries. Among the common and uncommon preliminaries, from the three aspects, the first is the order of visualization, first of all, the main thing is to prevent obscurations, including the practice of refuge, accumulation and purification in two aspects. If one's own mind is focused on the appearance of this life, it is easy to understand, easy to accomplish, and there is no difficulty. If you focus on the side of virtue, even if you listen to the Dharma a hundred times, it is only listening. If you listen, you don't understand, if you think, you don't understand, if you practice, you don't accomplish, these are the faults of heavy obscurations. Therefore, you must purify the obscurations. It's like washing the container before pouring in the essence. Among them, there are three aspects: purific
