It is evident that those extraordinary noble beings who have attained high positions have benefited sentient beings through various Dharma doors. Regarding the profound Dharma, even if one does not have faith, one should not denigrate it, but should remember that the nature of reality is inconceivable. Because it is not my realm, I cannot understand the nature of reality. The fully enlightened Buddha and his sons, as well as the great holy beings, know it. As it is said, one should understand it in this way. Many Tibetan and Indian scholars and accomplished masters consider the Third Turning of the Wheel of Dharma to be definitive and similar to the path of Secret Mantra, and the Omniscient One (ཀུན་མཁྱེན། ) also holds the same view. Furthermore, "other-emptiness" (gzhan stong) is named from the aspect that the Dharma itself does not possess other dharmas, just as the sun does not possess darkness. Therefore, this is clearly stated in all the tantras and instructions of Dzogchen, and even the mere word "primordial purity" (ka dag) transcends the extremes of existence and non-existence in ultimate truth, and because it is empty of adventitious defilements, it is very much in accord with the practice of other-emptiness. Regarding the establishment of the Dzogchen doctrine, although there are many explanations from previous scholars and accomplished masters, it is difficult to decide with one's own wisdom. Reading the works of the Great Orgyen (Padmasambhava) and Vimalamitra, as well as the treatises of the Omniscient One, because they are easy to express and firmly established, focusing on their meaning will increase wisdom. The nature of mind can only be realized through devotion to the guru and one's own practice, and it is certain that even those who speak eloquently find it difficult to experience. Therefore, regarding how self-arisen wisdom arises on the path, the Dzogchen Semde and Mahamudra traditions, etc., block or decide by destroying characteristics, that is, learning from the side of the consciousness to be abandoned; while the tradition of the Menngagde (Instruction Section) does not distinguish between good and bad thoughts, but blocks by destroying effort, that is, learning from the side of the antidote wisdom. That is, all phenomena that appear as characteristics are free from acceptance and rejection, and with the wisdom of indivisible appearance and emptiness, all the dharmas of samsara and nirvana are connected to the nature of reality, the realm of effortless activity, and the key point is that the wisdom of awareness that does not fall into either samsara or nirvana is the realm of the nature of reality.

When it manifestly arises, self-knowing and self-illuminating, the nature free from effort, once established and decided. As it is said: "Abandon mental calculations and introduce the realization of the vast expanse of primordial liberation." As the wisdom dakini said to the great omniscient one, during practice, do not deliberately restrain the mind, do not deliberately loosen it, but let whatever arises remain naturally, without fabrication. In this way, the self-nature of thoughts dissolves and vanishes, and in a state where nothing can be established, abide without fabrication and without distraction. However, if you simply remain still in that state, without drawing external appearances inward or scattering inner awareness outward, it will only be a state of calm abiding bound by meditation, unable to liberate from the root of thoughts, and therefore you must also destroy the effort of the antidote. The way to destroy it is to base yourself on the previous state of the mind's nature, which is peaceful and still, and then, upon whatever arises, abide nakedly and openly, and look at its own nature. In this way, the objects of the five senses and six consciousnesses will not obstruct, and the state of openness and the awareness that observes are not separate things arising from within, but rather appearance and awareness, awareness free from conceptualization, nakedly and clearly, directly seen, abiding in self-liberation, that is the key. As it is said: "The stainless, pure Buddha is the self-knowing Dharmakaya, unchanging, open, clear, and bright, like the cloudless autumn sky." And it is said: "Abide like an unmoving, stable mountain, abide like an unperturbed, clear ocean, abide like a vast, boundless sky, however you abide, may it be the state of awareness, however it arises, may it be the radiance of awareness, let it be self-knowing, clearly and brightly manifest." Thus it is said. Therefore, when the mind that grasps inwardly is transformed into self-purification, the grasping thoughts naturally liberate. In this way, the objects grasped externally are also naturally purified. That is to say, merely recognizing the self-nature, without modifying it with memory and grasping, merely knowing, dissolving, vanishing, without ceasing. As for experiences like this and that, no matter how hard you try, you cannot express them. The mind of moving thoughts cannot definitively understand what this is. It cannot be summarized by affirmation or negation, or by any aspect. If you think it exists in the essence of awareness and knowledge, then in the moment of self-knowing, you will experience such knowledge, such awareness.
