The system of Vasubandhu, the system of the Master, and a third system. The first is: The Mahayana path of seeing is considered to be sixteen moments from the perspective of substance, and it is said that there is no interruption between these sixteen. That is, suffering, origin, cessation, and path are summarized into four paths of seeing that are antidotes to what is abandoned by seeing. Each of these has four moments. In the Compendium of Topics it says: What is the forbearance of the knowledge of the Dharma of suffering? It is that which abandons the afflictions to be abandoned by seeing suffering, and that is called the forbearance of the knowledge of the Dharma of suffering. And so on. Therefore, with the forbearance of the knowledge of the Dharma and knowledge, one realizes the apprehended. With the subsequent forbearance of knowledge and knowledge, one realizes the apprehender. It should be known that all forbearance and knowledge are yogis who abide in the absence of characteristics. So it is said. The second is: From the perspective of substance, these sixteen are also, first, the uninterrupted path that directly abandons the suffering to be abandoned by seeing, which is included in the desire realm, is the forbearance of the Dharma of suffering. The path of liberation that is liberated from it is Dharma knowledge. The uninterrupted path that directly abandons the suffering to be abandoned by seeing, which is included in the higher realms, is subsequent forbearance. Its path of liberation is established as subsequent knowledge. As it says in the Treasury: From the most excellent of worldly dharmas, the forbearance of the Dharma is without outflows. For suffering in the desire realm, from then on, for that itself is Dharma knowledge, likewise these four. For the remaining suffering is subsequent forbearance and knowledge, and likewise for the three truths. Because it is said so. The third is: From the perspective of how the nature of reality is seen, it is one moment. From the perspective of the manifestation of the result, it is also one moment. From the perspective of the way each manifests and leads to certainty, it is sixteen moments. Because the Mahayana path of seeing, for the four truths, the sixteen abilities to lead to the sixteen certainties included in the subsequent attainment that cut off the sixteen superimpositions that hold to the wrong side, arise sequentially in the state of equipoise. As it says in the Great Commentary: For each truth, the inversions are completely eliminated, therefore, from the manifestation of individual realization, it is only with sixteen moments that one becomes manifestly aware. So it is said. The way of establishing the sixteen is also considered to be the same as Asanga's. Second
