It is practiced without having. Likewise, in the Extensive Play Sutra, it says: "Beings are driven by desire, existence, and ignorance. Humans, gods, and the three evil destinies, In these five destinies, they ignorantly wander, Like a potter's wheel turning." So it is said. The four lesser aspects of the truth of suffering are: The aggregates are not permanent, but impermanent; It is not annihilation, but the aspect of suffering that grasps at self; It is not established by valid cognition, but the aspect of emptiness; It is not established as self, but the aspect of selflessness. The characteristic of the truth of origin is: Any one of the two, suffering and origin, is included by any one of the contaminated actions and afflictions. That is, the reality of the ground, which is beyond words, thoughts, and expressions, abides in emptiness, but it is not recognized by the co-emergent ignorance. The imputed ignorance divides and grasps the aggregates as self, thus becoming confused. Based on favorable conditions, attachment arises; based on unfavorable conditions, hatred arises; based on neutral conditions, ignorance arises. Based on these three, the five poisons and other afflictions arise, and like the earth in summer, all actions are born and accomplished. Although there are many types of actions, the actions that throw one into samsara are condensed into three: non-meritorious actions, meritorious actions, and unwavering actions. The first of these three throws one into the lower realms, the second throws one into the desire realm's good realms, and the third throws one into the two higher realms. Thus, in the Uttaratantra, it says: "Through improper attention, actions and afflictions greatly arise. From actions and afflictions arise aggregates, elements, and sense bases." Also, in the Ratnavali, it says: "From non-virtue, all suffering arises, Likewise, all the lower realms. From virtue, all the good realms arise, And happiness in every way." So it is said. The four lesser aspects of the truth of origin are: It is the cause that establishes the imprints of future existence, therefore it is the cause; it is the cause that produces suffering in accordance with what is established, therefore it is the origin; it specifically determines the distinctions of suffering, therefore it is the arising; it takes the previous suffering and abandons the later suffering, therefore it is the condition. The characteristic of the third truth, the truth of the path, is: The uncontaminated that is made of the wisdom nature that directly realizes selflessness.

This is the Truth of the Path. As stated in the Compendium of Abhidharma, "By which path one fully knows suffering, abandons the origin, realizes cessation, and cultivates the path—this is the concise definition of the path." As it is said, it is the stainless, pure truth of the noble lineage obtained through training in the path. The four minor aspects of the Truth of the Path are: being the path by seeking the path of suchness, being reason by being the antidote to inappropriate afflictions and conceptualizations, being accomplishment by accomplishing the desired meaning without error, and being definitive emergence because it leads to the state of definitive emergence. The fourth is the definition of the Truth of Cessation: the separate cessation obtained by the power of the uninterrupted path of cessation on the emptiness of what is to be negated, which blocks the seeds of what is to be abandoned in one's own share. By practicing the path that realizes that very emptiness, the three poisons and five poisons of the cause, the Truth of Origin, are eliminated, as well as all the evil paths taken from them. The aggregates of suffering, the result, and the sufferings that depend on them are eliminated. In short, abandoning all the afflictions, along with their seeds, on one's own mind, dissolving them into the realm of reality, is the Truth of Cessation. Its four minor aspects are: cessation because there are no afflictions from the cause, peace because there is no suffering from the result, being magnificent because the cause of these two obtains the objects of purity and happiness in sequence, and being the aspect of definitive emergence because what has been abandoned does not return. Incidentally, dispelling doubts: which of the two, suffering and origin, is the result of one's own cause, the afflictions? If that is established as the definition of the Truth of Suffering, then, by the power of accumulating great deeds of both virtue and non-virtue, the Truth of Suffering in the continuum of the one who is first born in the higher realms by the result of virtue and ultimately falls into the lower realms at the time of death should be that definition, because it is what is indicated. If that is not established, then that is the dharma, and it should be so. Whatever exists should be the Truth of Suffering. If the first is not established, then it should exist. As stated in the Letter to a Friend: "Even the great pleasures of desire in the heavenly realms, once the pleasure of detachment from desire in the Brahma realm is obtained and then fallen from, the suffering of becoming fuel for the fire of the Avici hell is continuous."
