Equality and other meanings, likewise other times, and the intentions of beings, it should be known that there are four kinds of hidden meanings. Disparaging the Buddha's teachings, being slightly lazy and holding it as supreme, the conduct of pride and desire, and the antidote to regret and uncertainty, are the obscurations of sentient beings, and in order to counteract these, the Mahayana is taught. Thus it is said. Secondly, there are four kinds of hidden meanings: introduction, nature, antidote, and transformation of obscure meaning. The first is, in order to turn the Shravakas towards the Mahayana, it is said that external sources such as form exist by their own nature, and so on. The second is, in order to turn the Mind-Only school towards the view of the Middle Way, it is said that there is a lineage of extinction, and so on. The third is, like the four sutras mentioned above. The fourth is, knowing that there is no essence as having essence, abiding well in the inverted, being extremely defiled by afflictions, one will attain supreme enlightenment. Thus it is said. Thus, in the Ornament of Sutras it is said: The hidden meaning of introduction, the hidden meaning of nature, the hidden meaning of transformation, the Shravakas and self-nature, the Tathagata's discipline, and the profound nature of speech, these are the four hidden meanings. Thus it is said. The third is, the definitive sutra that is mainly taught with the intention of a different meaning of the expressed object is a sutra with hidden meaning, and the definitive sutra that is mainly taught for some special necessity is a sutra with obscure hidden meaning, and these two are not contradictory, because all four sutras with hidden meaning are also included in the antidote obscure hidden meaning. All sutras are not covered by these eight, because these are taught from the perspective of the definitive sutra. The third is, one should enter the teachings through the door of the four reliances, not relying on the individual but relying on the Dharma, not relying on the words but relying on the meaning, not relying on the provisional meaning but relying on the definitive meaning, not relying on consciousness but relying on wisdom. Secondly, the object of Mahayana practice is, the object is all phenomena, that is, goodness and so on. Thus it is said. For this there are four aspects: nature, classification, individual self-nature, and order. The first is, taking Mahayana practice as the basis for cutting off superimpositions.

Completed. The second is: virtuous, non-virtuous, and neutral; mundane and supramundane dharmas; with outflows and without outflows; conditioned and unconditioned; common and uncommon qualities, totaling eleven. In the third aspect, there are three general presentations and eight specific explanations. In the first aspect, among the three of virtuous, non-virtuous, and neutral, the definition of the first: that which is predicted and can produce a pleasing result of self-ripening. In terms of classification, from the perspective of mere similarity in name, there are four types: naturally virtuous, associated virtuous, intentional virtuous, and ultimate virtuous. The first is like the eleven virtuous qualities such as faith, because its nature is inherently virtuous. The second is like the primary mind associated with faith and the five omnipresent mental factors, because it is born as virtuous in nature due to the power of associated companions. The third is like the physical and verbal actions motivated by these. The fourth is like the suchness of dharmata. From the perspective of the three doors, there are the ten virtuous paths of action that are the opposite of the ten non-virtuous actions. Second, the definition of non-virtuous: that which is predicted and can produce an unpleasant result of self-ripening. In terms of classification, from the perspective of mere similarity in name, there are four types: naturally non-virtuous, associated non-virtuous, intentional non-virtuous, and nominally designated non-virtuous. The first three are explained above. The fourth is like samsara. From the perspective of the three doors, there are the ten non-virtuous actions such as killing. Third, the definition of neutral is: a dharma that cannot be predicted as either virtuous or non-virtuous. There are four types: the first is like the alaya consciousness and the afflicted mind. The second is like the co-emergent mental factors associated with these. The third is like the physical and verbal actions motivated by these. The fourth is like space and non-analytical cessation. In the second aspect, the others are easy to understand. The definition of with outflows: that which is encompassed by any of the six gates of outflows. An example is samsara. The definition of without outflows: that which is not encompassed by it. Examples are the truth of cessation and the truth of the path, all unconditioned dharmas. The six gates are:
