In general, there are the two Champowas, namely the six dharmas of realization, the antidote to the arising of the unobstructed path, and the antidote to abandoning its opposing factors, as well as the nature that is the basis of the liberation path of liberation from it, the nature that mainly prevents the extremes of existence and peace, the nature of the wisdom of the eighth ground, and the nature of the bodhisattvas who dwell on the ninth and tenth grounds, which are distinguished from the differences of abandonment and realization. The second is, like the defiled nature of one who has not entered the path. Second, the characteristic of the expanding lineage. What is the Buddha lineage? When it is free from defilements and reaches the ultimate, it appears as the lineage of the enlightened wisdom Dharmakaya. Classification: the expanding lineage that becomes the nature of the path, and the expanding lineage other than that. The first is, like the knowledge of the continuum of the scholars of the Great and Small Vehicles. The second is, like the root of virtue of one who has not entered the path, which is grasped by the thought of seeking enlightenment. Second, it is divided into the way of awakening the lineage and the way of becoming the lineage. First, it is divided into the signs of awakening the lineage and its benefits. The first is, before practicing the path, the qualities of intention such as compassion are naturally great, believing in the Mahayana Dharma, the merit of practicing the path, being able to endure the hardships of practicing the Dharma, and practicing generosity and other good deeds in accordance with the Dharma. As the Ornament of Sutras says: Before practicing the path, there is compassion, belief and patience, and those who practice good deeds in accordance with the Dharma, know that this is the sign of the lineage. The second is, the Mahayana lineage is like the good root of a tree, as the Ornament of Sutras says: The qualities are extremely vast, in order to generate the Bodhi tree, in order to obtain the peace of great happiness and suffering, in order to benefit oneself and others, this supreme lineage is like a good root. Second, there are two ways of becoming a lineage from the perspective of the basis and the way of becoming a lineage from the perspective of the object. The first is, the nature of defiled knowledge becomes the lineage from the perspective of the basis, as it is said in the root text: Know that the basis of entry is the lineage. In the commentary it says: With the difference of the different stages of the practice of Dharma, it becomes the basis of the Dharma of the thirteen kinds of bodhisattvas as mentioned above.

Therefore, it is taught that only the nature of the Dharmadhatu itself is called the gotra. Thus it is said. Second, it becomes the gotra from the perspective of the object of focus, because by relying on the practice of the Mahayana, focusing on the Dharmadhatu and making it familiar, the defilements are gradually purified, and ultimately all dharmas are realized. Third, there are two distinctions: distinguishing merely from the similarity of names, and distinguishing from the symbolic metaphors. The first distinction has three types: the Tathagatagarbha at the base stage, the Tathagatagarbha at the path stage, and the Tathagatagarbha at the result stage. The first is: the Dharmadhatu of the union of appearance and emptiness that pervades all that is stable and moving. The second is: the Dharmadhatu of the union of clarity and emptiness in the continuum of sentient beings who have entered the path. The third is: the ultimate Dharmadhatu that possesses two purities. The second is: from the perspective of the root, there are three: Dharmakaya, Suchness, and Gotra. In the Uttaratantra it says: "The complete Buddha body is because it produces, and because Suchness is without distinction, and because there is gotra, all sentient beings constantly have the Tathagatagarbha." Thus it is said. From the perspective of the limbs, the first has three: the Dharmadhatu utterly pure body, the profound body, and the vast body. The third has five: from the perspective of essence, there are two gotras, and from the perspective of ability, there are three bodies. That is, in the Uttaratantra it says: "The nature of this is Dharmakaya, and Suchness and Gotra as well, this is known by three metaphors and five." And, in the extensive explanation of Dharmakaya it says: "Two Dharmakayas should be known, namely the Dharmadhatu utterly pure, and its homogeneous profound, and the one that shows various aspects." And, in the extensive explanation of Gotra it says: "Like a treasure and a fruit tree." etc., therefore. To symbolize them, there are also nine metaphors. The metaphors that symbolize the first three are: the Buddha in the lotus, the honey in the bee, the essence in the husk, the gold in the impure, are metaphors for Suchness. The metaphors for the latter five are: the treasure under the ground and the fruit that grows trees are metaphors for the two gotras. The Buddha image in the tattered cloth, the Chakravartin in the womb of the wicked woman, the one in the mud...
