Therefore, later commentators on the Abhidharmakośa unanimously stated: "From the ninth day of the end of the second summer month, the nights become longer. In the fourth of the winter months, the days become shorter and the nights longer." This directly indicates the equinoxes of autumn and spring, and implicitly indicates the solstices of summer and winter. The first two lines of the verse indicate that it becomes shorter from the autumnal equinox, and the latter two lines indicate the boundary from which it becomes longer from the vernal equinox. This is a text indicating the boundary, not indicating the moment when it becomes longer or shorter from the extreme point. For example, starting the year from the beginning of the waxing moon, dividing the seasons into three parts, the second summer month and the eighth rahula month of autumn are the autumnal equinox, and the eighth day of the fourth winter month and the second rahula month of spring is the vernal equinox. This is unreasonable, because in the 'Establishment' and 'Placement' it says: "On the eighth day of the waxing moon of the first spring month, the night is eighteen yudtsams, and the day is twelve yudtsams. From the ninth day onwards, the night decreases and the day increases." Moreover, in the 'Prince Sutra' it is said: "On the eighth day of the waxing moon of the first autumn month, the day is eighteen yudtsams, and the night is twelve." In this way, these statements do not even roughly agree, because the two extremes and the two equinoxes are reversed. So, what is the reasonable view? Among the four summer months divided into three seasons, the end of the second summer month is the summer solstice, and the end of the fourth month among the four winter months is the winter solstice. The meaning of 'end' should also be understood as, according to the commentaries, with the waxing moon preceding, the last part of that month is considered the waxing moon. When matching each month with the people of today, if the year is counted from the latter half of the Pleiades, the eighth day of the second spring rahula month is the winter solstice, and the eighth day of the eighth autumn rahula month is the summer solstice. The prince said: "From the ninth day of the end of the second summer month, the nights become longer." The summer months are four months from the end of the middle summer month to the end of the small autumn month, and all the months are with the waxing moon preceding. Therefore, the waxing moon of the first autumn month

From the ninth, the night becomes longer. In the fourth of the winters, it becomes shorter. The winter months are four, from the end of the autumn minor month (referring to the ninth month of the Tibetan calendar) to the end of the spring first month (referring to the first month of the Tibetan calendar). Among them, from the ninth day of the waxing spring first month, the night becomes shorter. The translation of the self-commentary "Auspicious Accumulation" says: Due to the difference in the movement of the sun, the length of days and nights changes here. Among them, from the last ninth day of the second summer month, the night is long. The second month of summer, that is, from the ninth day of the waxing autumn first month, the night is long. In the fourth of the winters, it becomes shorter. Similarly, from the last ninth day of the fourth month of winter, it becomes shorter. Corresponding to the ninth day of the waxing spring first month. So on and so forth. Here, the omniscient ones of the debate period said: Young one, this is a wrong translation of "Auspicious Accumulation", because "dvitiya (梵文天城体)" (dvitīya, IAST) appears twice, but the latter was not translated and was omitted. However, the great translator of Xia Lu said: The translation of "Auspicious Accumulation" is not wrong, "dvitiyasya pakṣasya (梵文天城体)" (dvitīyasya pakṣasya, IAST) is explicitly translated as "the second aspect". Here, since the waning phase precedes, the second aspect is the well-known waxing phase, so its meaning is translated, translated as "from the ninth day of the waxing phase", otherwise "pakṣasya (梵文天城体)" (pakṣasya, IAST) would not be translated either. In this system of epistemology, some versions write "waxing spring first month" as "winter minor month". Moreover, in the "Pramāṇasamuccaya", "Pramāṇavārttika", "Bodhicaryāvatāra" and so on, there are also cases where the spring first month corresponds to the winter minor month, and the autumn first month corresponds to the summer minor month. However, in the Chinese version of the self-commentary, the Sanskrit equivalent of the spring first month is "phālguna (梵文天城体)" (phālguna, IAST), which is the equivalent of "དབོ"; the Sanskrit of the autumn first month is "bhādrapada (梵文天城体)" (bhādrapada, IAST), which is the equivalent of "ཁྲུམས". Therefore, the winter minor month and the summer minor month are all translated according to their respective wishes, without considering the previous major resolutions. Some scholars also say that in the Chinese version, "aha (梵文天城体)" (aha, IAST) of "ahatibaparyātaḥ (梵文天城体)" (ahatibaparyātaḥ, IAST) is the equivalent of the daytime period, not the equivalent of the sun, so it is wrong to explain it as the discourse of the sun returning. But there is no fault, because after the summer sun returns, the night.
