The sound of thunder seems to shatter the heavenly path. Such good fortune arises from the rolling clouds, resounding through the sky, like the great Dharma drum beaten in high summer, bringing boundless blessings to the cool teachings and all beings. Here, wings flutter and dances sway. Thereafter, in Lhasa, he offered a scarf to the great benefactor and met with the Dharma Prince, the incarnate lama, who had also arrived in Lhasa. He bestowed some Dharma teachings upon the Lhasa doctor Dranggye Pa, and the noble family of Zhika Shar Lek father and son, made offerings and prayers to the Jowo Shakyamuni statue, and set out on the ninth, visiting Drepung Monastery on the way back. Subsequently, in Chushur, he rested for about five days at the home of his uncle, Sonam Rabpa, and then went to the summit of Mount Chuwori to meet the great Dharma Lord Tratsangpa. There, he quickly presented the empowerments and transmissions of the New Treasure teachings, and also met with the arriving Pelyul Tulku Rinpoche. He also made a brief circuit of the Tsetu retreat center. At that time, he felt somewhat unwell due to affairs at the estate, and in addition, during the three days of staying at the summit of Mount Chuwori, he had a severe nosebleed, which caused great concern, so he hurriedly returned, and on the evening of the nineteenth, he stayed at Gongkar Chode Monastery. On that day, his health improved slightly, so he was able to carefully visit all the places. After that, he went to Darling, and after about five or six days, he fell ill with a severe cold-like illness, which worsened. His mother and the accomplished Klong Yang attended to him with care, and doctors Tashi and others treated him, and various rituals were performed continuously, but for nearly three months, his condition was so severe that he had to stay in bed. The doctors also determined that there was no hope of recovery and stopped the medicine. However, to serve his body, they still made offerings and confessions to the protectors of the New Treasure teachings, and performed rituals to dispel obstacles and purify obscurations. Especially on the twenty-ninth day of the third month, his younger brother Gyaltsen Rinpoche came from Pelyul, and immediately his younger brother and the accomplished Klong Yang offered a Dakini purification ritual, and that night, at dusk, the master himself had a dream. On the west side of the room where he was staying, a thangka was hung, and in the scene there was a stupa,

Many miserable people were crying and making gestures of sorrow, while many women dressed in fine clothes, carrying bows and arrows, were singing and dancing, expressing joy. Moreover, on the upper part of that Thangka, a being with a lion's head riding a dragon appeared from the clouds, saying, "I have protected the Buddha's teachings, praised the glory of the sacred ones, and upheld the supreme accomplishments of the Vidyadharas." Having said this, he departed with a loud noise. Upon awakening, he told the attendant to prepare a torma for the Dharma protector and made a simple dedication. Then, he slept a little again, and from his heart emerged a sharp, curved knife, which grew larger and larger until it filled the sky. In the instant when the sky and the knife merged, he felt a relaxed and blissful state of mind, and then he awoke. The next morning, he felt very comfortable, with no trace of his previous illness. Because he wanted to partake of the tsok khor (feast gathering) offered for dispelling obstacles the previous day, he requested it. Immediately, his body became clear as if the moon had dispelled the shadows, and everyone was very happy. His uncle, servants, and others offered refreshing drinks and food, and held a grand celebration. Thus, regarding the offering of profound teachings to the master earlier, it was later said, "If the profound teachings had been offered to Jey Gyalwa Rinpoche without the intermediary of a messenger, a greater basis for auspicious interdependence could have been established, but it is now slightly less. However, the root of auspicious interdependence has been well established." At that time, to examine the intentions of the sacred Gyalwa Rinpoche, a sign appeared that it would be better to change the statue to white. According to the instructions of the master, under auspicious astrological conjunctions, the statue was changed to white, in accordance with the form of the great secret lords such as Sonu, Nup, and the upper and lower Great Treasure Revealers. Monks, students, and patrons offered abundant offerings, and the younger brother Gyalsay Rinpoche, leading many Khenpos, Geshes, and assembled monks, recited verses of auspicious interdependence, and held a grand consecration ceremony. On that day, a rainbow tent covered the clear sky, and everyone felt faith and wonder. This secret lord walking in the guise of a human, although wondrous, is not merely a superficial sign; one must understand the inner meaning.
