I gave Dharma teachings to some devotees and received extensive offerings, mainly liquor according to local customs. Many people also requested dedications. After that, passing through Sman bzang, I went north to see my father. Not long after, I was brought to Ü-Tsang (dbUs), and at Dargye Chöling (Dar rgyas chos gling), together with some fortunate ones who came from various places at uncertain times, I received many empowerments, transmissions, and instructions from my father, Rigdzin Chenpo, including the Mani Kabum, the Seventeen Tantras, including the Wrathful Mother Tantra, the Vima Nyingtik, and the Khandro Yangtik. That summer, my father himself went into retreat at Chimphu, and later practiced medicine at Shel Drak. Due to the need to offer a white scarf at the enthronement ceremony of Miwang Trinle Gyatso in Kyishö, I had to travel to various places. During this time, I engaged in profound two-stage meditation at the monastery itself, and alternately engaged in the study of sutras, tantras, and treatises, and the management of patrons.

I also came, and I heard that you bestowed many profound empowerments and oral transmissions to the venerable one, working diligently day and night, unlike before. At that time, many great beings, with the venerable one as the chief, prayed for his long life. Now, this old man can only benefit the Dharma and sentient beings in this way. You will be my regent, may you benefit beings even more than I do. When the great accomplished one Rinpoche was about to depart from your presence, he requested you to be patient. You said in a joking manner: What does it matter if the moon sets? The sun will rise again. Like that, you gave many definite teachings and prophecies entrusting the venerable one as the regent, and then you went to Lhodrak. There, due to the cause of breaking vows, you showed a slight illness, and then returned. Even though your health was not good, you still taught this venerable one many profound teachings of the oral transmission lineage. As soon as you returned from Lhodrak, many skilled doctors came to treat you. This was not only because you were his father, but also because you had immeasurable devotion, considering him to be the actual Vajradhara. Therefore, the venerable one himself took care of him day and night, tirelessly bathing him, praying for his long life, and diligently performing various rituals. For the monastic community, you also tirelessly performed tea offerings, exorcisms, and so on. Nevertheless, around the sixteenth of the second month of the Hor calendar, he almost stopped speaking and only recited the Vajra recitation. Sometimes, he performed a large number of wind-energy practices that even healthy young people could not endure. Everyone saw that the crown of his head rose to the size of a raw egg. On the twenty-second day, he extended his hand to this venerable one and said: Now I will abandon this useless illusory body that cannot benefit myself or others, you must generate the courage to benefit the Dharma and sentient beings. After speaking, he showed the manner of passing away with wondrous signs in the posture of the Dharmakaya. Then, on the night of the twenty-fifth, his remains were brought to the center of the offering altar like a sea of clouds, and the abbot and teachers of glorious Palri Tekchen Ling, as well as the elders of the monastery, performed the accomplishment offerings of the mandalas of the peaceful and wrathful Guru, etc., respectively. Bonlung Rinpoche and the venerable one also diligently performed the prayer that you always urged to be recited.
