This extraordinary tale, called "The Chariot of Faith," is compiled from records of strict oral instructions passed down by the lord of men, Tripon Hendu Shri Kunga Sonam Lhundrup, who possessed unwavering faith in the Lord and was manifestly elevated by numerous outstanding virtues such as wisdom, compassion, courage, steadfastness, and generosity, and from accounts of what I myself have seen and heard. After specially reporting all matters concerning the Hor region to the presence [of the lama], Shakya Gelong Rigpa Dzinpa Ngagi Wangchuk Chöpal Gyatso's company, born as a younger brother of the Jetsun Lama's lineage and sustained by his kindness, wrote [this] in the main temple of the great grove of joy, the definitive meaning of Ogmin Orgyen Mindroling, not long after the new year of the Earth Female Snake year in the Hor tradition, on the morning of the tenth day of the waxing moon of the month of Dawa, a Wednesday, when the constellation was auspiciously complete and the zodiacal sign of Taurus was rising.
