In the near past, a beautiful woman of royal lineage united with a tree deity, and in time, she gave birth to a boy with auspicious marks. When he grew up, he requested the practice of meditation from the goddess Chandali and practiced it. The goddess appeared to him in a dream, and he prayed to obtain the kingdom. The goddess prophesied, "Go to the east, and you will obtain it." At that time, the land of Bengal (བྷངྒ་ལའི་ཡུལ།) had been without a king for a long time. The people were suffering, so the leaders gathered and decided to appoint a king. However, there was a powerful and cruel dragon girl who would eat the appointed king at night. Therefore, they appointed kings in turn, and the one appointed in the morning would be eaten at night, and the corpse would be taken out at dawn. The one who had accomplished the goddess Chandra went to a house where the people were overwhelmed with sorrow. When he asked the reason, they said, "Tomorrow it is our son's turn to be king." He said, "If you pay me wages, I will take his place." They were very happy and paid him the wages. The next day, he was appointed as king. In the middle of the night, the dragon girl transformed into a demon and came to eat him as before. He struck her with the weapon of his yidam, and the dragon girl died on the spot. In the morning, those who came to take out the corpse saw that he was not dead and were all amazed. They enthroned him as king. In the first part of his life, he ruled Bengal (བྷངྒ་ལར།), and in the latter part, he conquered Banga (བྷངྒ་པ།). He also built a monastery called Nalendra (ནཱ་ལེན་དྲ།) near Odantapuri (ཨོ་ཏནྟ་པུ་རི།). In that place, he established many sanghas and made offerings to the Dharma. He ruled for forty-five years. During the reign of this king, Shakyaprabha (ཤཱཀྱ་འོད།), a disciple of Shantarakshita (ཞི་བ་འོད།) and Sonam Drak (བསོད་ནམས་གྲགས།), worked for the benefit of beings in the land of Kashmir (ཁ་ཆེའི་ཡུལ།). In his land, there appeared the great Dhanashila (དྷ་ན་ཤི་ལ།), and especially the spiritual friend (བཤེས་གཉེན།), Wisdom Armor (ཤེས་རབ་གོ་ཆ།), and the Vinaya master Hero (དཔའ་བོ།). In the east, there was the teacher Yeshe Nyingpo (ཡེ་ཤེས་སྙིང་པོ།), as well as Sangye Yeshe Zhap (སངས་རྒྱས་ཡེ་ཤེས་ཞབས།), Yeshe Nyingpo (ཡེ་ཤེས་སྙིང་པོ།), and Shantarakshita (ཞི་བ་འཚོ།), who upheld the tradition of the Madhyamaka school. After that, in the land of Gaz (གཙྪའི་ཡུལ།) in the west, there appeared a king named Bibharatta (བི་བྷ་རཊྚ།). During his time, there appeared the younger Virupa The king was devoted to Buddhism, but the ministers were devoted to non-Buddhists, so there he built many temples of both inner and outer religions, as well as life-sized stone statues of the deities.

Because different temples were made, the ministers united. There, there was no other way but to need someone skilled in consecration. Seeing that a Buddhist layman had this merit, he was asked to do it. He said: I will not do the work of heretics. That person said: You don't need to take refuge in heretics, because there will be inexhaustible enjoyment, so you can promote the Dharma. He said: Then I will ask the master and come back. After asking, the master agreed, and he became that (heretic's) assistant. The corpse threw its tongue out three times. If the first time is successful, great accomplishment can be achieved; the second time is medium; the third time is small accomplishment. If it is not successful three times, it is said: First, we two will be eaten, and then the whole country will be destroyed. That layman did not succeed in the first two times. Then he sat face to face with the corpse. The third time, he bit (the corpse's tongue) and succeeded. Then the tongue turned into a sword, and the body turned into gold. The layman took the sword and circled around, and when he rose into the sky, the heretic said: I am practicing for the sake of the sword, give the sword to me. The layman said: I will go and see the excitement and come back. Then he went to the top of Mount Sumeru. He circled the four continents and eight subcontinents in an instant. Then he gave the sword to him. He said: Use this body that has turned into gold yourself. Don't touch the bones, just cut the meat. Don't use it for wine money and prostitutes and other evil things. If you use it for your own life and good deeds, then the place that is cut off today will be full tonight, and it will not be used up. After saying that, he himself took the sword and went to the heavenly realm. That layman relied on the gold of the corpse and built the Odantapuri Monastery. Odanta means flying. The built monastery is like seeing the real scene of Mount Sumeru and the four continents in the sky. The cost of building the monastery, as well as the living expenses of the five hundred monks and five hundred laymen who lived there permanently, were also included. Before he died, he maintained this foundation of Dharma. When he died, he buried the remaining gold as wealth for future sentient beings. It is said that this vast foundation of Dharma was handed over to Vapala. It is said that he was the son of a Naga. The father of this king was King Gopala. His queen asked a Brahmin who had achieved the mantra for controlling the king. Used in medicine.
