Now, the introduction to the four Kayas (Skt: Caturkaya) is as follows: Placing emptiness (Skt: Śūnyatā) in an inexpressible, non-grasping state is the supreme method of protection from all harmful influences, both internal and external. The third is the supreme method of possessing the four combinations. That is, offering to the Lama and the Three Jewels, accumulating merit with body, speech, and mind, is the combination of accumulating merit; Confessing sins through possessing the four powers is the combination of confessing sins; giving torma to harmful spirits and saying, 'You took my debt in the past, thank you very much,' etc., is the combination of giving torma to spirits; Offering torma to the Dharma protectors, praying that there are no obstacles to practicing the Dharma and that favorable conditions are fulfilled, is the combination of offering torma to the Dharma protectors. Possessing these four combinations is the supreme method of transforming adverse conditions into the path to enlightenment. 'Whatever arises immediately, apply it to meditation.' That is, when sudden harm and suffering are caused by humans and non-humans, thinking of how many suffering beings there are in this world, feeling compassion, taking their suffering upon oneself, and transforming it into the practice of exchanging oneself with others. Next, the essence of a lifetime of practice is taught. Fourth, the essence of a lifetime of practice is taught, divided into two aspects: how to act in this life, and how to act at the time of death. First is: 'The essential pith instructions are briefly stated, to be practiced in conjunction with the five powers.' That is, from now until enlightenment, not separating from the two Bodhicitta, with this determination, generating the power of resolve; At all times, not forgetting the two Bodhicitta, cultivating the power of habituation; for the arising and increase of Bodhicitta, focusing on accumulating merit, purifying obscurations, praying to the Lama, etc., striving to practice white Dharma, this is the power of the seed of white Dharma; Because self-cherishing generates various sufferings, one must try to completely destroy it, this is the power of subduing; vowing to never separate from the two Bodhicitta until enlightenment, this is the power of aspiration. Combining these five powers is the essence of a lifetime of practice. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

One should diligently practice (Bodhicitta). The second part is about how to do the dying instructions: 'The great vehicle transference instructions, are the five powers themselves, behavior needs to be cherished.' It is said. That is to say, when a person who has cultivated Bodhicitta is afflicted with a fatal disease, how should one use the dying transference instructions of the Mahayana Buddhism? In fact, one should use the Dharma practiced in this life as the dying instructions. The order is: offering one's belongings to the Lama and the Three Jewels, etc., to be without attachment, this is the power of the white seed Praying that one will not forget the two Bodhicittas in all lifetimes and make them grow and expand, this is the power of aspiration Denouncing self-grasping, because it has caused oneself to suffer in countless lifetimes, and now one is facing the suffering of death, so one must destroy it, this is the power of subjugation One must remember the two Bodhicittas in the Bardo stage and diligently practice, repeatedly generating strong intentions, this is the power of triggering Remembering the two Bodhicittas that one has already become accustomed to, this is the power of habituation These five powers themselves, as well as the behavior as an assistant, are very important. The body should maintain the seven-point posture, if not, lie on the right side, with the right hand supporting the right cheek, and block the right nostril with the little finger, allowing the breath to pass from the left side. Taking compassion as the guide, combine the entry and exit of breath to practice Tonglen. After that, know that all appearances are mind, and the nature of mind itself has no substance, and in this state, maintain breathing as much as possible. The fifth part is about the criteria for measuring the degree of Bodhicitta cultivation: 'All Dharmas converge on one purpose.' It is said. That is to say, the purpose of all Dharmas of the Great and Small Vehicles is to subdue self-grasping. If it cannot become an antidote to self-grasping, then the Dharma that has been practiced becomes meaningless, so self-grasping must become smaller and smaller. 'Grasp the main one of the two witnesses.' It is said. That is to say, when practicing the Dharma, the witnesses can be others and one's own mind, but among these witnesses, one's own mind is secret and cannot be understood by others. Good behavior can sometimes make people feel satisfied. Therefore, if one's own mind is always not ashamed, one does not rely on other witnesses, but should grasp one's own mind as the main witness. 'Constantly rely on the only joy.' It is said. That is to say, no matter what favorable or unfavorable circumstances one encounters, one should maintain a joyful state of mind. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
