And, the special realization of the Sotāpanna (Sotāpanna, Sanskrit, Srotāpanna, Srota-āpanna, 'stream-enterer') fruit of the gradual path, the special realization of the Sakadāgāmin (Sakadāgāmin, Sanskrit, Sakṛdāgāmin, Sakṛd-āgāmin, 'once-returner') fruit, and the special realization of the Anāgāmin (Anāgāmin, Sanskrit, Anāgāmin, Anāgāmin, 'non-returner') fruit. These three realizations are successively the realization of the Sotāpattimagga (Sotāpattimagga, Sanskrit, Srotāpattimārga, Srota-āpatti-mārga, 'stream-entry path'), the Sakadāgāmimagga (Sakadāgāmimagga, Sanskrit, Sakṛdāgāmimārga, Sakṛd-āgāmi-mārga, 'once-returning path'), and the Arhat (Arhat, Sanskrit, Arhan, Arhat, 'worthy one') path. Therefore, the realization of the stream-entry path of the gradual path, and the special realization of the Sotāpanna fruit of the sudden path, is the realization of the Arhat path of the sudden path. So it is the realization of the sudden path. In short, it should be known that there are three realizations: those preceded by detachment, the gradual path, and the sudden path. If someone says: 'All Śrāvaka (Śrāvaka, Sanskrit, Śrāvaka, Shravaka, 'hearer') paths of stream-entry are stream-entry paths,' then for these people, the Sakadāgāmin path and the Anāgāmin path preceded by detachment should be either the path or the fruit, because they are the Sakadāgāmin path and the Anāgāmin path of the gradual path. If you admit that, then it should be the path, because it is any one of the path positions, not the fruit position. If you admit that, then it should be the stream-entry path, because it is the path. If the latter reason is not established, then the realization of the sixteen truths should be attained, because it is the fruit of the two stream-entry paths. Therefore, one should not enter such an unexamined tenet, because the ribs will be broken! Second, regarding the Pratyekabuddha (Pratyekabuddha, Sanskrit, Pratyekabuddha, Pratyeka-buddha, 'solitary buddha') ground, there are also two: the nature and the classification. The first is: the realization that is the basis of the qualities of the Pratyekabuddha. The second is divided into two: the Khaḍgaviṣāṇa (Khaḍgaviṣāṇa, Sanskrit, Khaḍgaviṣāṇa, Khaḍga-viṣāṇa, 'rhinoceros horn')-like ground and the Saṃghasevana (Saṃghasevana, Sanskrit, Saṃghasevana, Samgha-sevana, 'community practice') ground. The natures are successively: the realization that is the basis of the qualities of the Pratyekabuddha like the rhinoceros horn, and the realization that is the basis of the qualities of the Pratyekabuddha who practices in the Saṃgha. Third, regarding the Bodhisattva (Bodhisattva, Sanskrit, Bodhisattva, Bodhi-sattva, 'enlightenment being') ground, it is divided into two: the general establishment and the detailed explanation of the respective natures. The first is divided into three: the nature of the ground, the difference of qualities, and the difference of the time of accomplishment. The first is: the realization that is the basis of the qualities of the noble Bodhisattva possessed by one's own mind-stream, through the union of great compassion (Mahākaruṇā, Sanskrit, Mahākaruṇā, Mahā-karuṇā, 'great compassion') without object and the wisdom that realizes emptiness (Śūnyatā, Sanskrit, Śūnyatā, Shunyata, 'emptiness'), and the realization that is the basis for abiding in the later continuum of realization, giving rise to the later Buddha-child, that is the nature of the Bodhisattva ground. If someone asks: 'Then, is the Adhimukticaryābhūmi (Adhimukticaryābhūmi, Sanskrit, Adhimukticaryābhūmi, Adhimukti-carya-bhūmi, 'ground of conduct of conviction') not necessarily so?' Answer: No, because that is not the Bodhisattva ground. For example, the Adhimukticaryābhūmi is the first ground of the Śrāvaka, which can be established. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Because the Path of Seeing in the Mahayana is the first Bhumi (stage, level) of a Bodhisattva (enlightenment being). 2-721 Acknowledging the pervasion along with its boundaries. If asserted, then the eighth Bhumi should be the third Bhumi of a Shravaka (hearer, disciple), because it is asserted. If asserted, then it should not be, because it is the eighth Bhumi. Furthermore, The Bhumi of a Bodhisattva should be eleven, because the Adhimukticarya-bhumi (stage of conduct through conviction) is the Bhumi of a Bodhisattva. If asserted, then the Adhimukticarya-bhumi should be the first, Because it is asserted. If one says: 'The tenth Bhumi should not be the Bhumi of a Bodhisattva, because it is the Fruition Bhumi, not the causal Bhumi of a Bodhisattva,' then, if so, The Krta-anuvipashyana-bhumi (stage of realized action) should not be the Bhumi of a Shravaka, because it is not the realization of any of the latter three entering-the-stream fruits. This is not pervasive, because the Krta-anuvipashyana-bhumi is not the Shravaka Bhumi divided by the eight Bhumis, but the Shravaka Bhumi divided by the three vehicles.' If said so, then, it is not pervasive to the former either, because the tenth Bhumi is not the Bodhisattva Bhumi divided by the causal Bodhisattva Bhumi and the Fruition Bhumi, but the Bodhisattva Bhumi divided by the ten Bodhisattva Bhumis. As the Ratnavali (Precious Garland) says: 2-722 'Likewise, in the Great Vehicle, there are ten Bodhisattva Bhumis.' Therefore. Secondly, regarding the distinctions of qualities, there are seven: the distinction of training in the three trainings, the distinction of training in the five uncontaminated aggregates, the distinction of surpassing Paramitas (perfections), the distinction of realizing Dharmata (the nature of reality) in Samahita (meditative equipoise), the distinction of leading to certainty in post-meditation, the distinction of how to take rebirth as Vipaka (karmic result), and the distinction of completely purifying Dharmas (phenomena). The first of these is: the first Bhumi serves as the basis for the three trainings, and in the second Bhumi, the training in morality is mainly practiced. In the third, fourth, and fifth Bhumis, the training in Samadhi (concentration) is mainly practiced. From the sixth to the tenth Bhumis, the training in Prajna (wisdom) is mainly practiced. The second is: the first Bhumi serves as the basis for all five aggregates, and in the second Bhumi, the aggregate of morality is trained. In the third, fourth, and fifth Bhumis, the aggregate of Samadhi is trained. In the sixth and seventh Bhumis, the aggregate of Prajna is trained. From the eighth to the tenth Bhumis, the aggregate of Vimukti (liberation) and the aggregate of Vimukti-jnana-darshana (knowledge and vision of liberation) are trained. The third is: As the Madhyantavibhaga (Distinction Between the Middle and Extremes) says: 'Giving and morality, patience and diligence, 2-723 Dhyana (meditation) as well as wisdom,' --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
