as well as meditation. The nature of these ten activities is an immeasurable accumulation of merit. As it is said, the preliminary practice is the mind of enlightenment, the main practice is no-birth, and the subsequent practice is dedication. Through the way of completing the three, preliminary, main, and subsequent, one should diligently practice any of the ten Dharma practices as appropriate. To this end, writing one or more verses of authoritative teachings, treatises, and instructions; offering mandalas and the seven-branch offering to the supports of body, speech, and mind, offering whatever one can with mental creation and actual objects; striving to obtain Dharma and wealth to the best of one's ability, which is generosity; listening to the meaning of words of instructions and scriptures of one or more verses from others; even if one cannot read many Buddhist scriptures, one should, like the "Five Seals Sutra," the "Perfection of Wisdom in One Hundred Thousand Verses," and the "Praise of the Names of Manjushri," be read at the appropriate time by those who possess yoga; upholding the three trainings and cultivating the mind of enlightenment, etc., holding the meaning and words of the scriptures without forgetting, and even not discarding the scriptures, but upholding them as objects of offering; explaining the above-mentioned listening, etc., to others, and even if one cannot, one should be happy to teach the Dharma and read the scriptures, etc.; constantly reciting sutras, tantras, dharanis, mantras, etc.; determining the meaning of what has been heard through reasoning and analysis, which is contemplation; striving to meditate on the samadhi of calm abiding and insight. Among these, during the practice of meditation, one should focus on the meditation itself at all times, both in meditative equipoise and post-meditation, and not engage in too many elaborations. At other times, one should not let the three doors of body, speech, and mind be wasted by worldly distractions, but should strive to practice these as much as possible. When prostrating, reciting "Namo Manjushriye Svaha (Tibetan: ན་མོ་མཉྫུ་ཤྲི་ཡེ་སྭཱ་ཧཱ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: नमः मञ्जुश्री ये स्वाहा, Sanskrit Romanization: namaḥ mañjuśrī ye svāhā, Literal Chinese meaning: Homage to Manjushri, Svaha)", "Namo Sushriye Svaha (Tibetan: ན་མཿསུ་ཤྲི་ཡེ་སྭཱ་ཧཱ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: नमः सुश्री ये स्वाहा, Sanskrit Romanization: namaḥ suśrī ye svāhā, Literal Chinese meaning: Homage to Auspicious Splendor, Svaha)", "Namo Uttama Shriye Svaha (Tibetan: ན་མ་ཨུཏྟ་མ་ཤྲི་ཡེ་སྭཱ་ཧཱ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: नमः उत्तम श्री ये स्वाहा, Sanskrit Romanization: namaḥ uttama śrī ye svāhā, Literal Chinese meaning: Homage to Supreme Splendor, Svaha)" three times will make the number of prostrations countless, and it is said that the wisdom of the path of seeing will arise in that very life. Alternatively, reciting "Om Namo Bhagavate Ratnaketu Rajaya Tathagataya Arhate Samyaksambuddhaya Tadyatha Om Ratne Ratne Maha Ratne Ratna Vijaye Svaha (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་ན་མོ་བྷ་ག་བ་ཏེ་རཏྣ་ཀེ་ཏུ་རཱ་ཛཱ་ཡ། ཏ་ཐཱ་ག་ཏཱ་ཡ། ཨརྷ་ཏེ་སམྱཀྶཾ་བུདྡྷཱ་ཡ། ཏདྱ་ཐཱ། ཨོཾ་རཏྣེ་རཏྣེ་མ་ཧཱ་རཏྣེ་རཏྣ་བི་ཛ་ཡེ་སྭཱ་ཧཱ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: ॐ नमो भगवते रत्नकेतुराजाय तथागताय अर्हते सम्यक्संबुद्धाय तद्यथा ॐ रत्ने रत्ने महारत्ने रत्नविजये स्वाहा, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ namo bhagavate ratnaketurājāya tathāgatāya arhate samyaksaṃbuddhāya tadyathā oṃ ratne ratne mahāratne ratnavijaye svāhā, Literal Chinese meaning: Om, Homage to the Bhagavan, the Tathagata, Arhat, Samyaksambuddha, the King of the Jewel Banner, Thus Gone One, the Arhat, the Perfectly Awakened One, Thus: Om, Jewel, Jewel, Great Jewel, Jewel Victory, Svaha)" and then prostrating, prostrating to one stupa is equivalent to prostrating to hundreds of thousands of stupas. If you want to circumambulate, spread golden sand on the ground and fill the center with water possessing eight qualities.

On the great trunk of a lotus, on a moon cushion, all the lamas and Buddhas and Bodhisattvas reside. Invite the Buddhas of the ten directions and their retinues to merge, and in a manner of respectful service, recite the mantra of prostration just spoken, or recite: Namo Dasha Diktri Kala Sarva Ratna Trayaya. Namah Praksha Supra Praksha Sarva Papam Pishodhani Svaha. While reciting, circumambulate. Doing one invitation is equivalent to doing countless. When offering offerings to the supports, recite the dharani mantra of the offering cloud, and when offering flowers, recite the dharani mantra of Pushpe Ketu. The dust and shadows of the body, speech, and mind supports, and the offering cloths, etc., should not be placed on them, and if it is unavoidable to place them, recite: Om Vajra Vega Kra Ma Hum. And with the mind, imagine lifting it into the sky, and then circumambulate, etc. When reading the Sutras and Tantras, visualize yourself as the chief of the teachings, Shakyamuni Buddha, or any chosen deity, and imagine that the sound of the Sutras is heard by all sentient beings, planting white seeds. Or in the manner of teaching the Dharma, or in the manner of the Buddha being present to listen to the Dharma, or in the manner of contemplating the meaning of the Dharma and practicing it yourself. In any of these ways, according to your preference, recite the extensive, intermediate, or concise Prajnaparamita Sutra, or the Heart Sutra, etc. If even that is not possible, visualize a white A in the sky in front of you, and then recite the A one hundred or one thousand times in the manner of reading. Or visualize your body as a white, luminous, and selfless A. Rest the mind in clarity and emptiness, and recite the A twenty-one times in one breath. When interrupting, merge the A in the sky into yourself. Visualize your body transforming into clarity and emptiness. Rest slightly in the state of non-arising. One should familiarize oneself with this. Reciting the A twenty-one times in one breath is a great merit. It averts all bad omens. It is said to be the secret instruction for pacifying all unfavorable conditions, such as untimely death. Thirteenth, sealing with pure dedication and aspiration. In general, after doing any virtuous deed, it is very important to seal it with the actual or subsequent non-conceptualization of the three spheres. In particular, at the end of the night session, seal the virtuous deeds done during the day with dedication and aspiration. That
