Meditate that the syllable Hūṃ, endowed with four special qualities, enters into it and passes through without obstruction, becoming empty and void. By generating the fierce and short sound of Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: 吽) and also uttering it verbally, one feels the flesh increase and become soft. This subdues even the harm of evil spirits. As a sign of the departure of evil spirits, trembling and convulsions occur. At that time, rest intermittently and meditate, and one will be liberated from evil spirits. Finally, rest in the unconditioned state like the sky. Third, searching for a place: Place a stick about half an arm's length in front. The guru visualization and absorption are the same as before. From the Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: 吽) in the heart, emanate a second Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: 吽) that is identical to itself. It emerges from the heart without obstruction. Focus the mind on it as it sits on the tip of the stick, clear, stable, and blazing. Then, gather it back into the Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: 吽) in the heart that is the basis. Repeat this emanation several times, searching for the basis of the visualization. In front, place a piece of wood about an arm's length long, and from the Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: 吽) in the heart, emanate many Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: 吽) syllables, one after another, continuously, like threading a garland. Starting from the base of the stick in front, gradually wind it clockwise, higher and higher. When the first Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: 吽) syllable reaches the top of the stick, focus the mind on it slightly. Then, starting from gathering the subsequent Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: 吽) syllable into the basis of emanation, wind it counterclockwise from the outside, quickly returning and dissolving into the Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: 吽) in the heart. Then unwind it. Perform the emanation etc. as before. At that time, also utter the sound of Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: 吽) in a full and long voice, singing the song of Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: 吽). Once accustomed to this, actually place a stick about an arm's length long. Through visualization, transform it into a wish-fulfilling tree whose top reaches the summit of existence. Then, repeatedly sing the song of Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: 吽) and perform the emanation and gathering of the visualization as explained earlier. After that, practice this on all objects as well, and one will feel that the mind can be fixed anywhere. If one obtains clear appearances for all the previous visualizations, that is the measure of accomplishment. During these times, it is important that the beginning, middle, and end of the Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: 吽) garland are not unclear when meditating on them at the same time, but that the appearance of everything is clearly apparent all at once, and that it is not interrupted by other thoughts. Fourth, introducing the path: The guru visualization and absorption are the same as before, and the common visualization is as follows: Self

Visualize a white Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ།,梵文天城體: हूँ,梵文羅馬擬音:hūṃ,漢語字面意思:吽) syllable with five lights at your heart. As you recite the Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ།,梵文天城體: हूँ,梵文羅馬擬音:hūṃ,漢語字面意思:吽) syllable in a melodious and prolonged manner, visualize a Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ།,梵文天城體: हूँ,梵文羅馬擬音:hūṃ,漢語字面意思:吽) syllable separating from the Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ།,梵文天城體: हूँ,梵文羅馬擬音:hūṃ,漢語字面意思:吽) syllable at your heart and entering a path resembling the crawling of a worm. First, just outside the dwelling, then the visible landscape, gradually traversing mountains, rocks, and scenery, and imagine going to the unimaginable end of the world. Imagine staying for a while in some places and repeatedly generating and extracting clarity. Sometimes, imagine walking slowly and recite the Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ།,梵文天城體: हूँ,梵文羅馬擬音:hūṃ,漢語字面意思:吽) syllable in a prolonged manner. Sometimes, imagine moving like an arrow being shot and recite the Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ།,梵文天城體: हूँ,梵文羅馬擬音:hūṃ,漢語字面意思:吽) syllable briefly. Then, gradually return and imagine residing in front or at your heart. When reciting the Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ།,梵文天城體: हूँ,梵文羅馬擬音:hūṃ,漢語字面意思:吽) syllable, combine wind and awareness into one. It is important to focus your mind solely on where it goes and comes, inside or outside. Here, rest at each bend of the worm's crawling, and it is said that sometimes short and forceful Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ།,梵文天城體: हूँ,梵文羅馬擬音:hūṃ,漢語字面意思:吽) syllables are recited. In particular, if relying on the uncommon oral instructions of the guru, from the beginning, the essence of one's own body, speech, and mind is visualized as a white Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ།,梵文天城體: हूँ,梵文羅馬擬音:hūṃ,漢語字面意思:吽) syllable with five lights, and then it goes in a winding manner, and afterwards, the body and the basis of projection, the Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ།,梵文天城體: हूँ,梵文羅馬擬音:hūṃ,漢語字面意思:吽) syllable, are visualized as without substance. It is said that this is a deeper contemplation than the former in terms of traversing pure lands, etc. That is, after traversing many worlds, go to the Abhirati Pure Land in the east, and imagine that the Teacher, the Bhagavan Shakyamuni Buddha, is inseparably mixed with the great bliss and the Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ།,梵文天城體: हूँ,梵文羅馬擬音:hūṃ,漢語字面意思:吽) syllable in the heart of Akshobhya Buddha. Do not withdraw it, but remain in equanimity without conceptualization. Treat other pure lands in the same way. Also, traverse to impure places such as hells, and wherever the Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ།,梵文天城體: हूँ,梵文羅馬擬音:hūṃ,漢語字面意思:吽) syllable arrives, transform that place into the pure vessel and essence, into the nature of gods and celestial palaces, and finally, imagine that all of these are unattainable, and together with the Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ།,梵文天城體: हूँ,梵文羅馬擬音:hūṃ,漢語字面意思:吽) syllable, naturally dissolve, and then remain in equanimity in emptiness, free from elaboration, and without conceptualization. All of this should be done as if walking slowly on foot, and by training the mind, one should not traverse and go quickly. By contemplating that wherever the Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ།,梵文天城體: हूँ,梵文羅馬擬音:hūṃ,漢語字面意思:吽) syllable arrives, one has actually arrived, one will eventually obtain a clear appearance that is no different from actually having gone, and there will be no hindrance in controlling and developing dreams, etc., and by relying on these, one can reach the pure lands.
