Supreme Samantabhadra, possessing various forms. The bodhisattvas' immeasurable samadhi, known as the great sovereign of the earth, is entered into. Then, as soon as the bodhisattva mahasattva Samantabhadra entered into samadhi, countless bodies as numerous as the dust particles of the great thousand worlds, immeasurably and completely filled, bodies belonging to the realm of space, all impurely and completely arranged on the mandala of the earth. Then, all the Tathagatas belonging to all the immeasurable Buddha-fields, extended their right hands and touched the head of the bodhisattva mahasattva Samantabhadra, and spoke these words: "Well done, well done, son of noble family! Recite the great dharani, the essence of all Buddhas' arising." Then, when the supreme body of the bodhisattva mahasattva was illuminated by hundreds of thousands of rays of light, all the Buddha-fields shook, and this dharani was spoken: Tadyatha. Om namo namas stri bhuva neshvare maha bhogaya asama sama amita sama ananta sama gagana sama tri bhuvana sama ashesha sama vesha sama parama artha sama sabhava sama tathata sama araja sama shuddhi sama buddhi sama dharma tathatva sama abhishama sama sama sama ekanaya sagara vishuddhe aloka hi hi labdha labdha vijaya vijaya om prasagata naya naya hini ra adhishthana sambhoga am analaya laya dharma agra dhara dhara jaya jaya hum hum dhama dhama svaha. Then, the foremost son of the Victorious Ones, the sole protector of all worlds, the bodhisattva Samantabhadra, who desires to benefit all sentient beings, gazed upon the face of the Bhagavan, the mandala of the earth shook, and he spoke thus, filling all three realms. Then, from the mandala filled with bodhisattva mahasattvas, including gods and asuras, a body adorned with blazing golden rays of light, appearing and extremely moving, arose from the great cushion of vajra lotus head-seats on all the earth, stood up from the mandala, and uttered the sound of haha and spoke

Pa. Alas, the great Dharani, vast as an ocean of great compassion and countless virtues! Alas, the great source of Buddhas! Abiding to fully ripen the boundless, centerless three realms and the immeasurable realms of sentient beings. The great Dharani that abides without abiding in the mandala of Dharma. Alas, the great Dharani that dispels the imprints of sins accumulated from endless kalpas, dries up the ocean of afflictions, and shatters the mountain of pride. If one has not truly accumulated the collection of roots of virtue in endless kalpas, has not directly seen hundreds of thousands of Sugatas, has not cultivated the seed of enlightenment, and has not attained the complete ocean of excellent qualities of the all-knowing ground, who else could even hear this great Dharani, the essence of all Tathagatas? What need is there to mention holding, reciting, or fully understanding it? Even the mere name of this great Dharani is difficult to hear for hundreds of thousands of kalpas. Alas, those sentient beings in whose hands this great Dharani resides have truly obtained a great gain. They live with a good livelihood. It is a good basis for those with clairvoyance. It is the true perfection of the roots of virtue. They abide in the realm of the Tathagatas. It is the true perfection of all qualities. By reciting it just once, one will be liberated from all the sufferings of the lower realms. By reciting it just twice, one will be freed from all sins. By reciting it just three times, one will be freed from all afflictions. Thus, by merely reciting it, one will obtain virtues more and more, and one will also see the Tathagatas. If one recites while walking, one will be liberated from all sufferings. If one recites at the foot of a single tree, one will obtain all accomplishments. If one recites while walking, one will subdue all sentient beings. If one sits in the lotus position in a great forest and recites it seven times, one will obtain great samadhi and also be separated from afflictions. In front of the image of the noble Samantabhadra, sitting in the lotus position
