That is its beginning. Recite the "Immaculate Confession Tantra" and the Hundred Syllable Mantra as much as possible. Devote yourself wholeheartedly to prayers and dedications, both common and specific, as much as you know. First, meet with people who hold pure vows, and arrange well the auspicious connections for ending the retreat, such as looking at the sun and moon. Thus, it is very important for a yogi who has successfully completed the recitation and practice to supplement the recitation and practice each year, relying on the end with monthly or three-weekly sessions. The daily yoga, whether extensive or concise, should not be interrupted. If you enjoy the extensive version, precede it with refuge, bodhicitta, and the four immeasurables. Connect the recitation, practice, and activities of the three kayas in sequence, and perform the meditation and recitation as usual. At this time, there is no need for the vase in front, nor for the visualizations related to the upper and lower chakras. Visualize the nirmanakaya's recitation lama in the sky in front of you. Recite each mantra twenty-seven times for each place, making a hundred recitations. Direct the gathering and dispersing of the practice towards the lama on the crown of your head. After completing a hundred recitations of the practice mantra, perform activities for about a week. Finally, after briefly resting in the completion stage where the deity's clarity is gathered, then visualize the sambhogakaya's recitation and practice, the light of the vajra vase (Tibetan: རྡོར་བུམ།, Sanskrit Devanagari:, Sanskrit Romanization:, Chinese literal meaning:) Nri (Tibetan: ནྲྀ) gathers the life essence of sentient and insentient beings. Finally, place your mind on the golden vajra for the activity visualization, and practice until the completion stage. After that, meditate on the dharmakaya's visualization sequence. After that, gather the deity's clarity, rest in the completion stage for a moment, and finally perform dedication, aspiration, and auspicious prayers. If you cannot manage that much and want to simplify, connect with the guru yoga, practice the sambhogakaya for the sake of longevity practice, and practice the dharmakaya because you like the completion stage, etc. By doing daily recitation for each, you can also accomplish the necessity of the vow. The fourth important instruction is: In general, for recitation and practice, the distinctions of what to cherish and abandon, the key differences, as they appear extensively in the new and old instructions, need to be understood. Here, in order to briefly explain the view that appears from the terma texts and the teachings of the related gurus, in general, if you do not have vows, you cannot accomplish mantras. Therefore, after receiving empowerment, if you have doubts about the vows, or if the empowerment itself has only passed in the year of receiving and the year of obtaining, then you should from the guru

Repeatedly offer, and please the guru with whatever mandala offerings are available, and pray for the complete accomplishment of recitation and practice. From then on, it is fundamental to view the guru as inseparable from the deity to be practiced. If the guru is not present, one should still have that intention, and after gaining unwavering faith, the duration of the retreat can be long or short, such as four sessions, three sessions, or two sessions. Whatever vows were made at the beginning, one must definitely see them through to the end. If living supplies and other necessities are not fully prepared, it is unavoidable that there will be some taking and giving. Assistants, servants, doctors, and others who are certain to be helpful in the practice should be considered from the beginning. In general, if important matters that were not initially considered suddenly arise during the vow-taking period, they should also be taken into consideration, but one should not be too strict. Afterwards, one should not become complacent, thinking that everything has been taken into account. One should do everything possible to protect the retreat by guarding against assistants, servants, and visitors from inside and outside, so that the retreat is not interrupted and one is not carried away by distractions. In the case of practices with obvious signs, accomplishments are easily delayed and obstacles easily arise, so one should not let others know which deity one is practicing until the recitation is completed. From the beginning of closing the inner and outer boundaries until the practice is completed, one must guard against the four stains of leakage, turbidity, defilement, and perversion, as explained in the "Pacifier". The cause of leakage: do not teach or listen to Dharma, and do not protect, bless, perform rituals, or create auspicious connections for others. Do not give away blessed substances such as tsok, torma, and offering remnants. The cause of turbidity: do not meet with others, and do not speak. Do not move the body. Do not take or give objects, and especially do not allow others to use one's own food, clothing, utensils, implements, or leftovers. Do not use the belongings of others. In particular, do not allow letters, cards, food, clothing, etc. from those who have broken their vows to come into contact with even a breath of air. Do not tell others about any signs, experiences, or realizations that may arise. The cause of defilement: do not wash the body, clothes, hair, or face. Do not cut hair or nails. Do not move the bed. Do not shake the cushion. Do not sweep the practice room. The cause of perversion: distractions that appear to be temporary and altruistic, and not engaging with a mind that seeks peace and happiness, but practicing while the cushion is still warm. Regular recitations and virtuous deeds are also causes of interrupting the practice.
