Sit in the lotus position. Straighten the spine. Slightly bend the neck. Keep the tongue and lips natural. Focus the eyes on the tip of the nose. Because this is the posture of all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, blessings will enter, And it will attract others, and the wind and mind will be tamed, so that samadhi will arise naturally and obstacles will be reduced. Then adjust the key points of speech, abandon all uncomfortable winds and distractions, and first abide without moving for a while in spontaneous accomplishment. Because abiding in the wind and mind is the root of taming the body and mind. Second, the main practice is divided into two: meditating on samsara in general, and meditating by separating samsara individually. First, one must meditate on samsara in general, because if one does not do so, great power will not arise in the mind. The method of meditation is to clearly visualize the vessel of samsara and all the beings of samsara, all of which appear due to illusion, but in reality there is nothing that can be established. Just as a person with jaundice sees a conch as yellow, so there is nothing that can be established, and one must focus on this single-mindedly. In order not to lose the power of the mind, one should say, "No appearance, no appearance." Second, one must meditate by separating samsara individually, because if one does not do so, it will become a rough generality and will not touch the substance. The method of meditation is that even if a joyful appearance arises, there is nothing to be happy about. This is only an appearance due to illusion, but in reality it is the same as a rabbit's horn, it has nothing, so there is no need to be happy about a rabbit's horn, and one should focus on this single-mindedly. Similarly, as soon as unpleasantness, happiness, suffering, and other appearances arise, one should immediately combine them with the previous method and meditate. Furthermore, when the appearance of death arises, These are like rabbit horns, so there is no death at all. People who are impure and suddenly appear have no self-nature, so they will not die. I myself am a clear and immaculate momentary deity, so I will not die. Therefore, there is no such thing as death at all, and one should meditate single-mindedly, "It is immortal, it is immortal." Then, no matter what appearance arises in the cycle of day and night, it is a mis

Looking at appearances, contemplate the absence of appearance, the absence of appearance, and meditate without distraction for even a moment. Similarly, apply this to birth, aging, and other phenomena and meditate. Second, there are two aspects to practicing the view of clarity: meditative equipoise and post-meditation. The first is: Having completed whatever preliminary practices are appropriate, clearly visualize all pure containers and contents in the mind and meditate with one-pointed concentration, continuously reciting "Clarity, clarity" in the mind. If clarity arises clearly in the mind, it is acceptable not to recite mentally. At that time, if ordinary appearances arise even slightly, view them as appearing but being without substance, and repeatedly recite "No appearance, no appearance" in the mind. During such meditation, whatever pain or distraction arises in body, speech, or mind, view impure aspects as having no appearance and pure aspects as clear Buddhas. In this way, do not let distractions become obstacles to virtuous practice, but rather transform the more distractions there are into aids to virtuous practice, just as adding wood to a fire makes it burn more brightly. At the end of that session, do not seek any activity in the mind, but simply relax the mind and rest for a moment without distraction. This is necessary for naturally generating calm abiding, for generating certainty about the object of meditation, for not falling into dullness, and for giving the body and mind a little rest. At this time, sometimes meditate by focusing on all sentient beings, and sometimes meditate by focusing on one sentient being at a time. Second, there are two aspects to post-meditation: enhancing the view of clarity and training in vast conduct. The first is: In the post-meditation period after rising from meditative equipoise, whatever sentient beings are seen, whether beautiful or ugly, maintain the previous view by reciting "Clarity, clarity" in the mind, without straying from the previous view. The second is vast conduct: View all sentient beings seen as being the nature of the three bodies and as being a mandala complete with the three seats. Even when seeing statues, paintings, and so on, and sentient beings, these statues and so on are merely the symbolic body of Samantabhadra. They can never perform activities such as turning the wheel of Dharma, because they are not fully enlightened Buddhas or those who will become fully enlightened. Beings with form, such as gods, humans, and animals.
