As for abandoning, it will be explained below. Second, after that, the experience of awareness separating from the support of mind will arise. That is how the signs of begging arise for a middling yogi; the lowest must rely on frequency. Third, there are two methods for subduing demons: recognizing the demon and the key to cutting it off. First, after going to a dangerous place, if the splendor of gods and spirits appears, then the physical body and awareness separate. Second, there are three: cutting off pride in the body, cutting off pride in the mind, and the demon arising from conceptual thought. First, this body is like an inanimate stone; it will not be harmed. Second, the mind is like insubstantial space; who can harm it, and who can be harmed? Thinking in this way, abide in the nature of reality without fear or concern. Even if the gods and spirits take away this inanimate body of one's own, think that because the previous karma has not been shaken, one should not be afraid of anything. This is the practice of those of middling and lower faculties, and all of it is necessary for the basis of circumambulating the sacred mountain. Third, whatever conceptual thought arises is a demon. That arises from one's own mind. There is not even a particle of reality in the place where the mind arises, abides, and goes. After liberation, one will not become a Buddha; after delusion, it is impossible to wander in samsara. All deluded thoughts are the demon of pride, that is the nature of the mind, and realizing that the mind is free from the extremes of arising, ceasing, and abiding, then liberation and delusion are also without inherent existence, uprooted like a tree without a foundation.

The method of practice. This is the plan for the fruition of becoming a Buddha. Second, not fearing sin is the cause of error. Not abandoning afflictive obscurations, one will not attain the fruition, which is the place of error. Third, clinging to philosophical tenets is an obscuration. Holding onto the three spheres, all clinging to the extremes of philosophical views is shown to be an obscuration of knowledge. Fourth, non-duality and self-liberation are the nature of reality. Having abandoned the two obscurations, realizing the nature of reality is to cut off superimpositions on the fruition of those three. Fifth, there are six aspects. In general, they are the preliminaries to practice, the Dharma of practice, the instructions for dispelling one's own obstacles, the methods for dispelling the obstacles of others, the offering rituals for these, and, in general, the explanation of the fruition of practicing the Perfection of Wisdom. First, taking refuge from the nature of Dharma itself. Second, generating the mind of enlightenment and making supplications. Entering the path and meditating on the path, going to sacred places, and taking refuge during session breaks. In the main practice, there is also ultimate refuge, and the cultivation of the two aspects of the mind of enlightenment. Third, if obstacles arise for oneself, then go to a sacred place and meditate on non-duality. For a yogi who is meditating on the path, no matter which of the three obstacles—afflictions, illness, or demonic influences—arises, in order to increase diligence, one should meditate on the object to be abandoned and the antidote as non-dual. In each and every way of taking the path, one should also practice the method of combining it with the five paths, thereby transforming it into fifteen paths. Fourth, if one wants to benefit other sentient beings, then compassion should be the guide. Knowing oneself, the patient, the demon, and the illness to be all empty, then rub and meditate on emptiness, and lie down with one's head facing (the patient). If it is necessary to benefit sentient beings afflicted by illness and demonic influences, then one should first generate loving-kindness and compassion, and then, knowing oneself, the patient, the demon, and the illness to be all empty, rub the affected area with one's hand, and have the patient lie down with their head facing (oneself), or lie down with one's head facing the place where fierce spirits and demons dwell. This is known as "wandering severance." Fifth, even if that does not pacify, then in a sacred place, take refuge and generate the mind of enlightenment, recite three times, meditate on freedom from extremes, make mandala offerings, and bless and throw away tree branches and clay pellets. When the yogi and the patient are together, taking refuge and generating the mind of enlightenment
