By practicing the six perfections properly, one temporarily possesses the seven qualities of the heavens, and ultimately attains complete enlightenment, effortlessly accomplishing the two benefits, and so on, as explained in the Mahayana sutras. The immeasurable qualities of the result cannot be fully described here. The extensive explanation is finished. Third, the conclusion: It is called "The Great Verses on the Meaning of the Perfection of Wisdom." It is the instruction of the Brahmin Arya Deva. It is the intention of the "Perfection of Wisdom in One Hundred Thousand Verses." It is the profound essence of the path, such as the "Ornament of Clear Realization of the Perfection of Wisdom." It is the verses of the oral instructions for practicing the Perfection of Wisdom, totaling fifty verses. It teaches the extensive meaning of the six perfections and the profound points of integrating emptiness and wisdom. It fully demonstrates the path that enables one person to attain complete enlightenment, therefore it is complete. Thus it is taught. All the content of the text has been completed. The final meaning was translated into Tibetan by the great Indian Pandit, the Holy Jewel, and corrected and finalized by the Zhama translator. The name of the Holy Jewel is Kamalashila. In the Praise of the Eighty Accomplished Ones, it is said: "Skilled in phonetics, logic, scripture, and oral instructions, he attained the accomplishment of the life of a vidyadhara. I pay homage to that lama called Kamala." Thus it is said. He came to Tibet three times, and then gave this text to the Kyo-ton brothers, and it was propagated and expanded by the emanation of the goddess Majomo Ganga. However, only the meaning of the text was taught according to the capacity of the beings, and the words and meaning of the text were not completely transmitted. It is said that it was not transmitted to Khu Gom Cho Seng. Then, in successive transmissions, Zalmog Drakpa, for the sake of Nyang's Jowo Sonam Rinchen Sal, seems to have made many commentaries and notes on the meaning of the text. My lama made a medium commentary, and I wrote both extensive and concise versions. This was done by accomplishing the activity of the manuscript, and also without deceiving the prophecy of the dakinis, and by completely fulfilling the intention of the lama, with pure higher thought. By the power of that truth, may the sunlight of the merit of the four assemblies in the ten directions and three times purify the dharmadhatu.

Thus, by the virtues of the holy ones, may it pervade the endless expanse of the sky, and through the wisdom of omniscience, may the obscurations of all beings be purified. Then, entering the supreme method of the supreme vehicle, the meaning of Chöd, firstly, the nature of the ground, secondly, the stages of the path, and thirdly, the aspects of the result, will be explained in three ways. Firstly, how to fixate on the ground? All phenomena of existence and non-existence, samsara and nirvana, are the nature of the mind, therefore, the mind is considered the root. How to fixate on the nature of the mind? The mind is something without birth or death, likewise something without going or coming, likewise something without color, likewise something without shape, likewise something without one or many, likewise something without existence or non-existence, likewise without happiness or suffering, likewise without self or other, likewise without purity or impurity, likewise without good or bad. The mind is so empty, and from the state of emptiness, everything arises, so know that all appearances are mind. The mind is like the clarity of the sky, make it clear without wavering. The mind is like the image in a mirror, make it appear as you think. The mind is like the appearance in a dream, realize that it is not true. The mind appears like an illusion, be sure to separate existence and non-existence. Thus, determine the nature of the mind. Then, enter the path. How to fixate on the way to enter the path? First, taking refuge, then generating the mind of enlightenment, then remembering the guru, then confessing sins, then meditating on the object, practice in five stages. First, how to take refuge? Guru, Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha, as well as heroes, dakinis, and Dharma protectors, I and all beings take refuge. From now until enlightenment, take refuge with faith and devotion. Secondly, how to generate the mind of enlightenment? For all sentient beings who have not been mothers, who are tormented by intense suffering, generate great compassion. With the vow to eliminate suffering, generate the mind of enlightenment. Again, how to remember the guru? On the lotus seat on the top of your head, the root guru is actually present. Pray to him. Guru Rinpoche, please purify my sins, please bless me, please generate certainty in my mind. By the devotion of remembering the guru, sins are purified. Fourth, how to confess sins? By the power of memory, gather the sins accumulated from the past in front of you. Regret these sins from the bottom of your heart, tears come from your eyes, the body's hair stands on end, and the words of repentance are spoken from the mouth, confessing all sins. Fifth, how to meditate on the object? Although there are many objects, what is mainly taught here is to think of your body as a corpse, flesh, blood, and bones covered with skin, inside filled with bile, mucus, tears, tongue, liver, lungs, spleen, etc., filled with unclean things. Then, imagine your body pervading the sky, giving alms. The corpse of the body is considered the object of cutting. Then, all kinds of demons and obstacles, gods, nagas, non-humans, as well as all kinds of spirits, gather on your body. Imagine them devouring your body, drinking blood, eating meat, and licking bones. Think of them as being satisfied. Then, imagine the corpse of the body being cut into pieces and given away. Think of it as a huge corpse. Then, imagine your body pervading the sky, offering to Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, Sangha, heroes, dakinis, Dharma protectors, etc. Think of them as being satisfied. Then, imagine your body pervading the sky, giving alms to all sentient beings in samsara. The corpse of the body is considered the object of cutting, so that sins are purified. After that, the third is the result. How to fixate on the way to obtain the result? All sins are purified, all self-grasping is destroyed, the suffering of samsara is eliminated, and Nirvana is obtained, which is regarded as the result. If you practice the meaning of Chöd in this way, you will attain Buddhahood in this life. If you do not attain it in this life, you will surely attain it in the bardo. Even if you do not attain it in the bardo, you will attain it in the next life. If you practice the meaning of Chöd in this way, you will quickly attain Buddhahood. Thus, in the words of the holy ones, this treatise on Chöd is explained. By this, may all sentient beings quickly attain Buddhahood. This commentary on Chöd, "Nectar of Immaculate Honey," was written by Khenchen Ngawang Palden.
