There is no acceptance or rejection, no improvement through skill, no experiential realization, no essence of meditation, no generation of bodhicitta and no scattering. Everything is integrated into that, so there are no sectarian names or commitments. At that point, all phenomena dissolve, so one doesn't know how to practice. The artificiality of the individual disappears, and the memory of consciousness is destroyed. Now there is no doubt about the Buddha, and there is nothing to practice. Even in ordinary distraction, there is no need to extract the essence with forceful methods; one can find the root with mere recollection. By repeatedly practicing this between this life and the bardo of death, one will not take rebirth in the future. Now there is no doubt about samsara, and no expectation of the Buddha. Because one realizes that there is no desire for anything, everything, including the generation of bodhicitta, emptiness meditation, scattering, and transference of consciousness, is integrated into that root. A hundred flavors are washed away with one detergent, and a hundred birds are driven away with one slingshot. Knowing how to gather into one root in this way is like a son like his father, a subject like his ruler, a sprout like its seed. The past that has passed away is said to be the path for the future. When introducing in this way, for the person being introduced, when their body is developing, encourage them from the essential point with enhanced skill, and have them enter into intense training of essence and skill. For those with weak bodies, encourage them from the essential point of their own natural state of abiding, and introduce them with gentleness, clarity, and purity, relying on the generation of bodhicitta. If thoughts are wild, focus on one object, abandon many ways of introducing, and have them focus on one. For the dull, ignorant, and foolish, generate a single, definite understanding, and introduce them with few words, not explaining many elaborations. For those with knowledge of hearing and thinking, immerse them in various paths, and introduce them relying on the words they themselves know. For meditators, have them enter into the path they are accustomed to, and introduce them after destroying the antidote to that. For great sinners, show unrelated wisdom, and introduce them in naked awareness, without being defiled by good or evil. These essences are called recognizing self-aware wisdom, which is the key to taming wild horses, calming the wild mind, going from tension to relaxation, and from fullness to release. Second, there are four ways to use meditation to maintain balance. First, to establish the root of equipoise, lead a long session of meditation. The signs of success are dull senses, a clear complexion, and the edge of the clothes shivering, which is the sign that equipoise has entered the essential point.

Therefore, if the root is stable, introduce and guide for a long time. Second, if the root is not stable, guide for a short time: Before those three signs appear, do not move, the balance of the left and right nostrils is not achieved, even if broken, no trace will remain. Therefore, cut into short periods, and when guiding, tighten vigorously and release quickly. Third, during conduct, carry it in segments: In all times of walking, standing, sleeping, and sitting, grasp with the remembrance of the root experience. (Recite) the syllable ཕཊ་ (Tibetan, Devanagari, phaṭ, shattering), inject in segments, carry it without reliance, and engage in conduct. Fourth, when practice is proficient, carry it continuously: The root is proficient, the antidote disappears, and when balance is mixed with (other practices), there is no need to inject and engage in training. One should abide continuously in the uncorrected self-experience. There is nothing to do except remember. If distracted, there is no need to inject with methods, as long as one remembers, one will find the root. Therefore, when injecting, break clearly, interrupt when comfortable, mix with conduct when striving, do not prolong when abiding, carry the experience in segments, and cultivate the post-meditation without reliance. Third, there are also four ways to enhance through training: First, training upwards: Project awareness into the realms of form and formlessness, train, clearly illuminate and inject all the celestial realms. Then break with the antidote. This prevents attachment to the bliss of the higher realms, as the enjoyments of the gods appear as self-nature free from elaboration. Second, training downwards: Clearly illuminate the three lower realms, stir awareness and train. Then break with the antidote. This prevents experiencing the suffering of the lower realms, as one has realized self-nature free from elaboration. Third, training awareness in the four directions and four intermediate directions: Allow awareness to not remain for even a moment, allowing it to run towards various objects. Then break with the antidote. This gives rise to an inconceivable experience, thereby realizing that all appearances are free from elaboration. Fourth, training awareness nakedly: Stir awareness without any reliance in the realm of no object, moving without a target. Even so, if the root is not stable, there are four ways to cut off awareness: First, inserting (awareness): Temporarily inject into the empty space. Then, turning the face: Vigorously stir without any reliance. Then, inserting (awareness): Awareness (like) space.
