After praying to Zhang Rinpoche, that night in a dream, I seemed to be on the edge of a cliff in Na Tra. In a grassy area with a yellow slope, Lama Zhang Rinpoche was sitting on a high throne. He was wearing a silk hat and holding a white umbrella. Two women were supporting him from the left and right, and in front of him were some who looked like monks, some who looked like laypeople, and at the very end were some who looked like beggars. I was very happy and devoted, and prostrated many times. When I approached, Lama Zhang Rinpoche was eating a special kind of food. He also gave me something that looked like a grape, about the size of a raisin, cloudy and I didn't know what it was. When I ate it, it tasted sweet and smooth, with a hundred of the best flavors that I had never tasted before. When I woke up the next morning, that taste remained between my tongue and teeth for several days. He said that even now, whenever I feel unwell, that taste appears. At that time, he did not give the dream of secret conduct. Also: These empty images of gods and demons, Are brought to the path in this way. As parents, cultivate loving-kindness, As a lama, offer prayers, As a yidam, request accomplishments, As co-emergent, rest in the natural state. He said. From then on, relying on the four dharmas after waking up, the secret conduct of bringing gods and demons to the path clearly appeared in his mind. In addition, he also had a lot of understanding of the arrangement of the body and the actions of the retinue. Therefore, this unique secret conduct of bringing gods and demons to the path has four ways of awakening gods and demons to the path: knowing gods and demons as parents, bringing them to the path with relative bodhicitta, which is the secret conduct of great loving-kindness; knowing them as yidams, bringing them to the path with the mandala of the deity in the relative generation stage, which is the secret conduct of the illusory body purifying the field; knowing them as lamas, bringing them to the path with profound devotion, which is the secret conduct of pure appearance all-pervading; knowing them as dharmakaya, bringing them to the path with non-dual mahamudra, which is the secret conduct of appearance and existence transcending. Each of these has two, in general, the way to awaken gods and demons to the path, and in particular, the way to practice secret conduct. The first is that in the ultimate nature, gods and demons, Buddhas and sentient beings...

I, all dualistic appearances such as self and other appearances, are unborn in essence and pure. Although they have never existed in the three times, that alone does not transform gods and demons into the path. In ultimate truth, gods and demons are not established, so the transformer and the transformed are also not established. In relative truth, if one says there are no gods and demons, one falls into slander, so as long as there is self-grasping, gods and demons also exist. Moreover, neither oneself nor gods and demons have anything that is constant, stable, solid, or unchanging. The appearance of things as if they were established is not fixed, and they can appear as anything depending on conditions. When one is under the control of ordinary thoughts and the three poisons, the self-nature of gods and demons also exists as harmful obstacles. When one generates the mind of great enlightenment of the Mahayana and trains the mind in loving-kindness, compassion, and the mind of enlightenment, gods and demons exist as kind parents. When one obtains the ripening vase empowerment and uses the generation stage of liberation as the path, gods and demons exist as the deity of commitment. When one focuses on devotion and reverence as the essence of the completion stage, gods and demons exist as the nature of the three bodies of the guru. When one obtains the four ripening empowerments and puts the great seal of liberation into practice, those gods and demons exist as innate, self-arisen wisdom. As the inner mind acts, so does the outer appearance appear. Appearance is the self-nature of one's own mind and thoughts. For the ordinary self, sentient beings, gods, demons, harmers, and obstacles are not truly established, and they can appear as anything depending on conditions. The nature of all phenomena is emptiness, and the relative nature is the ultimate truth itself, the two truths being inseparable. Among these, the first is transforming gods and demons into the path through the mind of enlightenment: Having generated the mind of great enlightenment of the Mahayana, for the yogi who trains the mind in loving-kindness, compassion, and the mind of enlightenment, there is not a single sentient being equal to space who has not been one's parent. Each of them has been one's parent countless times, and they have raised one without regard for their own body and possessions, being kind parents. This is widely proclaimed in the sutras. The following will explain that these statements are not provisional.
