Furthermore, even during all times of the day, have the thought, "This is a dream, I must utilize it." At night, before sleeping, pray to the lama to seize the dream. Vigorously meditate in your mind with the aspiration, "I must seize the dream," and you will definitely seize it. All phenomena are causes and conditions; reside strongly at the root of aspiration. Thus it is said. Second, to seize it through the power of wind: lay down with the right side down, in the posture of a lion. Press the pulsating artery of the throat with the thumb and forefinger of the right hand. Block the nose tightly with a finger. Swallow the saliva into the throat. Third, to seize it through the power of focus, there are: actual, expedient, and cutting off distractions. The actual is: visualizing oneself as a deity, in the center of the throat, clearly visualize the red syllable ཨཱཿ (Tibetan, Devanagari: आः, Romanized Sanskrit: āḥ, Literal Chinese meaning: Ah), the essence of speech vajra. Through its light, all appearances appear like reflections in a mirror, and by meditating on them as illusions without inherent existence, one will be able to seize the dream. The expedient is: in the evening, maintain the same focus as the previous day. At dawn, do seven vase breaths. With the aspiration, "I must seize the dream," repeat it eleven times. Focus the mind on the white bone bindu at the space between the eyebrows. If there is more blood, meditate on it as red; if there is more wind, meditate on it as green. If that doesn't work, meditate on it the same way in the evening. At dawn, do twenty-one breaths, and have twenty-one aspirations. Focus the awareness on a black bindu the size of a small pill at the tip of the secret place, and you will be able to seize the dream. Cutting off distractions is: Waking distraction is: even if you seize the dream, you wake up immediately because you think you must utilize it. For this, consume nutritious food, and do work that makes the body tired, so that you will fall asleep more easily, and thereby eliminate it. Lethargic distraction is: continuously dreaming the same dream as before, not wanting it to change. For this, repeatedly meditate on that dream, and strive with the aspiration, "Now I will practice dream yoga," combining the bindu between the eyebrows and wind. Scattered distraction is: dreaming many dreams but not being able to remember them at all, avoid unclean things and defilements, receive empowerment, and focus on the bindu of the secret place, thereby eliminating it. Empty distraction is: not wanting to dream at all. For this, focus on the bindu of the secret place and meditate on wind. In particular, please the heroes and dakinis with a tsok offering and torma.

The method of purification is: Then, the meaning of "purification" is to dream of something like fire in a dream. Thinking what is there to fear in the fire of the dream, one makes offerings on it, etc. Trample on whatever is dreamed of, and after getting used to it, one should look at various pure lands. Then, when going to sleep, visualize that in the red dot in the middle of the throat, all the qualities of the pure land that one wants to see clearly appear, and maintain this state of mind. In this way, one can accomplish seeing any pure land one desires, such as Tushita (དགའ་ལྡན།), Sukhavati (བདེ་བ་ཅན།), and Abhirati (མངོན་པར་དགའ་བ་). Third is to train in illusion: Training in illusion, at that time also abandon. It means that if one does not dream, one transforms water into the opposite antidote; if one dreams of small, one transforms it into large; transforming large into small, the power has large and small; if one dreams of one, one transforms it into many; one gets used to gathering many into one. In the dream, one visualizes one's own body and everything seen as an illusory deity body, and in this way it will appear. Fourth is to meditate on Suchness: Meditating on the meaning of Suchness. It means that one sees the appearances of the dream as they are seen, and purifies the habitual tendencies of the dream. By holding the mind on the deity body and abiding without any alteration, the appearance of the deity will subside in a state without object of focus, and thus the clear light of the nature of emptiness of all things will appear. If one becomes accustomed to this, there is no difference between falling asleep and waking up, and all appearances will appear as clear light, thereby merging appearance and mind. Fourth is clear light, there are three: ground clear light, path clear light, and fruit clear light. First is the ground clear light: In this clear light recognition instruction, the ground, path, and fruit should be known by oneself. It means that the great bliss without an object of focus, possessing all the supreme aspects of the object of focus, inseparable from emptiness, this is the Suchness of all dharmas, the reality of the mind-object, which is called the natural clear light. Second is the path clear light, there are three: merging the path of day with nature, merging the path of night with nature, and merging the path of the bardo with nature. First is merging the path of day with nature: Knowing it, where does it abide? The three wisdoms are completely purified by this, and one will realize manifest enlightenment. These are the five dharmas, where should one go first, one should go to the lama first.
