As it will be explained below. The sign of accomplishing the wind through such practice is: rubbing the palms of the hands together three times, or the duration of striking six cymbals, or the breath of a healthy person, the best being one hundred and eight times, the medium seventy-two times, and the lowest thirty-six times, all contained within one breath, is considered accomplished. After that, the sign of the wind entering the central channel is that whenever one practices, the breath naturally becomes even. The sign of the wind dissolving into the central channel is that the breathing through the nostrils weakens, and eventually even the slightest breath is absent, so that even if a tiny fluff is placed at the nostrils, it will not move. It is said that this state can also occur when the wind sinks or scatters. If the wind sinks, the mind is unclear and visualization is not clear. If the wind scatters, no matter how long one practices, the practice will not have power, so it is necessary to distinguish clearly. Fourth, then, at the eyebrow center, visualize the essence of wind-mind at the upper end of the central channel, a white bindu, shimmering with light, oily and round, about the size of a mustard seed or a medium-sized pea. That is not just an object of visualization, but think of the essence of mind as that bindu and focus on it. When the mind is focused on it, when the wind enters the body, like an iron ball rolling in a copper tube, with a whooshing sound, it goes from within the central channel to the center of the crown chakra. When the wind stays, focus on the bindu, and when the wind goes out, visualize it appearing with a whooshing sound and staying at the eyebrow center, and practice repeatedly. When the mind is focused on it, as before, visualize it going to the center of the throat, heart, and navel chakras, and focus on it. Gradually increase the duration of focus. After focusing on these places, at the crown, throat, and heart, focus on five or seven breaths each. The main thing is to focus on the navel chakra during the actual session. In all cases, when the wind enters, visualize it going to the center of that chakra, when it stays, focus on it there, and when it goes out, visualize it staying at the eyebrow center. When ending the session, gather the bindu back to the eyebrow center. Practice in this way until you obtain the sign of focus and stabilize the mind. Fifth, untie the knots of the channels of the body as the basis, guide the wind and bindu into the channels, restore and propagate the decline of the channels, wind, and bindu, and make them grow. Relying on it, the key to settling the mind, which is the basis, in a stable place lies in the body.

Since the illusory wheel is extremely important, here, at the beginning and end of the session, one should focus on practicing the illusory wheel known as the Six Dharmas of Naropa. These and other methods of the illusory wheel can be learned from my instructions on the fierce fire yoga (Tummo). Secondly, the method to stabilize what has been attained is: Regarding the posture of the body, the sole of the left foot should be placed against the right buttock, and the right foot should be crossed over the outside of the left foot and placed against the left buttock. Place a small cushion of cloth, etc., under the buttocks. Tie the meditation belt around the waist and under the knees, with a length of one cubit and four fingers, one cubit and one finger, or one head scarf, one palm. Visualize it as Vajravarahi, etc. Place the hands below the meditation belt in the gesture of meditative equipoise, pressed below the navel. The rest is as previously explained. The key to the time is to avoid practicing at times when one is too full, too hungry, at noon, or at midnight, but especially at the time when the right and left winds alternate, and when the winds flow equally. The key to the channels is to visualize the three channels and four chakras clearly as before. The key to the place is, four fingers below the navel, at the junction where the three channels converge, called the "A (藏文:ཨ,梵文天城体:अ,梵文罗马拟音:a,汉语字面意思:A)" of Tummo. Its nature is bindu, its appearance is fire, its touch is heat, and its experience is comfort, possessing four characteristics. Its shape is like "Ashad (藏文:ཨ་ཤད་,无法确定梵文,汉语字面意思:Uncertain)," which is considered to be like the cut end of a buckthorn thorn cut from the waist, with the cut facing upwards. Its thickness is like a horse's tail, its height is one finger, and it possesses the power to warm and comfort the entire body with its extremely red light. In particular, it simultaneously generates unbearable heat and melting comfort below the navel. This is not merely an object of the mind, but one should focus single-pointedly on the nature of the mind and meditate. The key to the wind is, according to the previous four combinations, during the filling stage, visualize the wind passing through the two channels, left and right, striking the "Ashad (藏文:ཨ་ཤད་,无法确定梵文,汉语字面意思:Uncertain)," becoming redder, brighter, and warmer, like blowing on a coal fire. During the pressing stage, visualize the remaining winds dissolving into the "Ashad (藏文:ཨ་ཤད་,无法确定梵文,汉语字面意思:Uncertain)." During the expulsion stage, visualize the seed syllable above the "Ashad (藏文:ཨ་ཤད་,无法确定梵文,汉语字面意思:Uncertain)," along with the heat, entering the central channel. In short, it is very important to focus on the "Ashad (藏文:ཨ་ཤད་,无法确定梵文,汉语字面意思:Uncertain)." Since this is the root of Tummo, it is necessary to clearly grasp the object and obtain warmth. Therefore, the mind should be stable.
