When one element arises, it dissolves into another and transforms. The fierce fire of Chandali blazes intensely, and the mind of enlightenment is certain to ignite. The sign of the inner blending of heat and cold is that warmth appears first, followed by an appearance like smoke. The four elements combined cannot harm it. Therefore, the body is cherished for practice. When the body becomes stable, various signs appear. The four joys arise in sequence. One can endure external heat and cold, there are fewer creatures on the body, the flesh glows and burns from within, dirt does not stick to the body, it becomes as light as kapok, stretching and contracting are comfortable, there is less mucus and phlegm in the mouth and nose, the body emits a fragrant odor, thoughts of food and drink diminish, the ears hear pleasant sounds, thoughts of sleep diminish, one is skilled at answering questions, speaks eloquently and pleasantly, is skilled in combining words, corrects one's own faults, speech is in accordance with meaning, corrects the faults of others, is content with possessions, develops weariness of samsara, delights in solitary places, desires to live alone, desires to meditate repeatedly, does not feel the existence of the body, has no attachment to objects, and does not stay in one place permanently. The assemblies of dakinis gather, one receives prophecies in dreams, becomes proficient in the Dharma, clairvoyance gradually arises, methods of questioning and so on appear, one is able to mix inner and outer, what is bound is harmless, when the time comes, one releases it, and at the wrong time, one slays the gods. One should not trust in this. If trust arises in this, one will be under the control of the demon of conceptual thought. It is now, but it is not that itself; it is a sapling, but it is not the fruit; it is merit, but it is not non-thought. When destroying experience and view, one is not obstructed by the enemies of the four maras, and appearances are certain to become astonishing. External objects cannot be investigated, one's own self-illumination is clear within. For example, like the dream of a mute person, or like the four joys of a young woman. Merely expressing it in words, with the merit of the blending of heat and cold, the four elements combined cannot harm it. Because there is no need for food and drink, excrement and urine will not occur. Supreme accomplishments arise naturally.

A merchant relying on a road, even if he thinks of not going, cannot help but go. Just as doing business increases food and wealth, a yogi relying on the path will gradually generate experience. Dharma without relying on skillful means, even if practiced, is only temporary, claiming realization but without progress. The Buddhas' hidden intention is merely to allow sentient beings to adapt to their respective dispositions and actions. If that were the truth, it would be contradictory in itself. Even learned scholars are sharp in words but dull in meaning. When distinguishing right from wrong and making choices, if one cannot decisively cut through from the depths of the heart, no amount of learning will help. If one could decide merely by relying on learning, how could scholars fall into hell? For self-awareness dawning within oneself, no amount of learning can save one. For example, merely reading medical texts, how can one cure a patient's illness? Dharma without meditation is the same. At the time when the power of wisdom and awareness manifests, some say they have seen the truth. But I do not agree with that. It is the moon, but not the full moon of the fifteenth; it is awareness, but not non-conceptual awareness; it is a shadow, but not the body itself. It is merely as a symbol. Therefore, one should rely on skillful means. For a practitioner who has transcended the accumulation path, it is to focus on things and mind. At the moment of focusing, take and discard with the mind as one pleases. When enjoying this together, think as one desires. That is the realm of the mind's activity. If actually relying on a consort, the tantras with characteristics all speak of it. My wish as a yogi is that whatever comes to mind is a consort with characteristics. When many gather, conduct is beautiful; when acting secretly, be without shame. In a place far from these, engage in fearless conduct. Mother, daughter, and sister can also become special supports. Generate qualities, not faults. One should not contemplate teachings without qualities. In all the tantras it is said, the teachings of relying on mother and sister, the Buddha's teachings are with hidden intention, but some see them as meaningless. If one does not practice in accordance with the meaning, then one should choose conduct that suits one's disposition. A yogi who does not know the means of union, if sitting on the same seat with a woman, then the actions of ordinary people will not produce benefits but will turn into faults. Therefore, one should rely on someone skilled in the means of union. From the behavior of some, all behavior is like this.
