Great diligence arises. Secondly, as it says in the Bodhicitta Commentary: In the unobstructed mind, abides the nature of space; that meditation on space itself is considered the meditation on emptiness. Like using the example of space, which is free from extremes, to indicate and combine it with the nature of one's own mind for meditation. Just as the external space is empty at its foundation, with the terms "initially arising from here" and "ultimately empty here" being established, similarly, when examining one's own mind internally, because the foundation is not established, the beginning and the end cannot be found. Likewise, just as space has no initial arising and no ultimate destruction, one's own mind, because it does not arise from anywhere, cannot be destroyed by anything. Just as space does not go to other places and does not return to its own place, one's own mind also has no place to go and no place to return to. Just as space cannot be established as "this is the edge" and "this is the center," the edge and center of one's own mind cannot be determined, therefore, one should remember it as being like space, which is free from all elaborations, and abide in it. As it says in the Eight Thousand Verse Prajnaparamita Sutra: Meditating on the Perfection of Wisdom is meditating on space. Saraha says: The mind without discrimination abides like space; space has no abiding, it is free from difference. As it is said and so on. Even in these instances, if conceptual thoughts arise, the object of arising does not go beyond the three times of past, present, and future, therefore, regarding the method of cutting off the elaborations of these three, as it says in the Sutra of Good Night: The past is not followed, there is no hope for the future, the past has ceased, the future has not yet arrived. For the dharmas that arise in the present, contemplate them well, without being robbed by conceptual thoughts, include all of them. As it is said, if conceptual thoughts of the mind arise towards the various objects and things, actions, good and bad, that have already happened in the past, then immediately grasp them with mindfulness, remember not to follow the past, and abide in the state of unborn space. If conceptual thoughts of the mind arise towards the various objects and things, actions, good and bad, that will happen in the future, then also immediately grasp them with mindfulness, and do not welcome the future.

Remembering the instructions you have heard, rest in equanimity in a state like unborn space. Whatever thoughts of good or bad arise from present appearances, immediately recognize them as encounters. Keep in mind that all dharmas are originally unborn and abide in that state. As it says in the Samputa Tantra: "Emaho! The secret of all Buddhas, the perfect Buddha is unborn. All arises from the unborn, and at the moment of arising, it is unborn." This is the meaning of that. Finally, generating certainty in the inexpressible is the blending of the realization that arises in meditation with the conduct of post-meditation. That is, during meditation, the nature of all dharmas is emptiness like space, free from all elaboration. In post-meditation, although the nature or essence is empty, appearances such as forms arise, which is known as emptiness like a mirage. For beginners, since there is no distinction between meditation and post-meditation, everything is primarily based on post-meditation awareness. Once habituation is stable, and there is a distinction between meditation and post-meditation, the reliance on mindfulness with effort and exertion transforms into spontaneous mindfulness. Even when the objects of the six consciousnesses arise, one is not distracted by grasping at a subject and object. Whatever appears externally, such as forms and sounds, is inseparable from appearance and emptiness. Whatever thoughts arise in the mind internally are inseparable from clarity and emptiness. In between these two, the non-conceptual wisdom that arises is inseparable from awareness and emptiness. At that time, one repeatedly practices and cultivates within the sphere of the ultimate reality, which is beyond words, thought, and expression. These are also as the glorious Saraha said: "Whatever you are attached to, let it go. If you realize it, everything is that, and no one else can know anything else." And, "Like an elephant gathering its mind from the path, cutting off coming and going, one's own self is at ease. I have realized it like this, I don't need to fabricate." This is said to be the meaning. Fifth, connecting realization with conduct after realization has arisen. During conduct, as it is said, "Conduct is related to timing," from the collection of accomplished heart essence teachings, there is the conduct of Samantabhadra, secret conduct, hidden conduct, and the conduct of awareness and asceticism.
