Pa. The four conducts of Phyogs-las-rnam-rgyal, such as the first "pa," should be practiced separately in conjunction with the four states. The necessity of conduct is: If stable realization arises in a secluded place, in order to stabilize and enhance it, when encountering various good and bad circumstances, transforming the afflictions that arise in the mind into the path, in order to make everything equal in the nature of Dharma. What is to be transformed into the path is: thoughts, afflictions, gods and demons, suffering, sickness, and death. Although there are individual path transformations, the root of everything is gathered into transforming thoughts into the path. First, the so-called "recognizing thoughts" means that no matter what good or bad circumstances are encountered, no matter how they appear, recognize them without engaging in the grasping of self-characteristics. In the middle, the so-called "abandoning self-grasping" means that whatever appears, do not disturb it with negation and affirmation, and cut off the bondage of self-grasping. Food is not divided into clean and unclean, eat whatever you get; friends are not divided into good and bad, associate with whoever you meet; clothes are not divided into good and bad, wear whatever you get. These should also be learned gradually from small to large. In the end, do it without any acceptance or rejection, and without any calculation. Finally, the so-called "clearing the dangerous path of hope and doubt" means that after doing this, even if subtle thoughts of hoping for what will come and doubting what will not come, and hoping for begging on the road and doubting not begging, etc., arise, do not modify them, but let them go without clinging to them. By perfecting the conduct in this way, the realizations of the first bhumi and above will arise in sequence, and ultimately the state of perfect Buddhahood will be manifested. Sixth, eliminating the obstacles to meditation is: In general, there are many obstacles and faults in meditation, such as the five obstacles, but here they are summarized into two: dullness and agitation, as well as internal physical illnesses and external demonic obstacles, these four ways to eliminate them. The first is: Regarding the obstacles to samadhi, many things are said, such as agitation, regret, and dullness, but the main ones are summarized into two: dullness and agitation. Dullness has coarse and subtle divisions, as well as faintness, lethargy, and sleepy dullness, etc.; agitation has coarse and subtle divisions, as well as regret, doubt, desire, and harmful thoughts, etc. Although many causes for the arising of dullness and agitation are mentioned, they mainly arise from the impurity of body, speech, and mind actions, and from not paying attention properly, therefore the scriptures

And it is very important to practice properly as it is said in the instructions. There are many ways to eliminate these faults, but in general, praise the high view, etc. Both body and mind should be tightened. The mind should be vast, spacious and clear. For distraction, for the sinking of view and mind, for the acceptance and rejection of likes and dislikes, etc., do not have any hopes or doubts, but relax and rest in the state of spacious and clear mind. Do not be distracted from that state, but expand the awareness that wants to be undistracted. In both cases, whether you are on the path or not, practice for short periods and many times. Specifically, in general, it is said, "Place the mind on the crown of the head," so place the mind on the crown of the head. If that does not eliminate it, place the mind on the crown of the head as if it were a bright light, or from the heart, the essence of the mind, a white bindu with rays, rises up. It comes out of the Brahma's aperture. Place the mind on the crown of the head in the sky. If distracted, it is said, "Place it on the soles of the feet," so place the mind like resin on the soles of the feet. If that does not eliminate it, then from the heart, the essence of the mind, a black bindu with rays, sinks down. It comes out of the lower gate. Visualize it resting heavily on the ground, and that will eliminate it. The third is, if there is an obstacle of disturbance of the elements of the body, then practice the essence extraction of the three fruits. It is said that the cause of this disease is also the karma and afflictions caused by ignorance. Because the movement of the wind of dependent origination is disordered, the four elements are disturbed, and the elements are unbalanced, so the result is that the body and mind are tormented by pain. Therefore, as a conventional remedy and the main factor of dependent origination, in order to counteract the three faults, the essence extraction of the three fruits should be practiced for a long time and stably, so that the elements will be balanced and the body will live healthily. Ultimately, if a yogi becomes ill, he should recognize the sensation of intense pain in the body and mind, and make that the essence of meditation. Do not disturb it with the discriminating mind of rejection and establishment, but practice clearly. Sometimes, investigate the self-grasping of the one who experiences the pain, and rest without alteration in the state of recognizing the essence. Do not have the hope of getting well or the doubt of not getting well, but be certain of great equanimity. Ultimately, the place of illness, the mind that experiences, and the object of disease are all emptiness without root or basis.
