Even if many inappropriate signs appear, there is no substantial body in this bardo. This empty mind-body cannot be harmed. Even if you are at odds with the whole world, you cannot be harmed, so think like that. Also remember the three recollections. Whatever appearances of joy or displeasure arise, know that they are illusions arising from the scattering of the inner wind-mind, just like echoes outside. Hold on to the view, transform the wheel of great bliss deities, merge it with your own mind, and focus single-pointedly. Again, block the womb door with three antidotes: view, deity, and knowing the nature of the suffering of the womb, thereby abandoning it. If you have to choose a womb, even if signs of being born in the lower realms appear, choose to be born into a royal family. Strongly desire to go to Sukhavati and other places, this is the connection for being born there. These things must be practiced and familiarized now. If you are not familiar with them now, you will not be able to do them at that time. Therefore, practice birth, death, and bardo during the day, and practice dream bardo at night. At the time of death, have strong recollection and desire. If these words and meanings of the bardo come out even when chased by a dog and are imprinted in your mind, then whatever bardo arises, you can use it and attain accomplishment. Sixth, dream practice, the first of the four, grasping the first of the three, grasping the actual practice, with the first of the two as the preliminary: In a solitary place, eat moderately, behave slowly, and speak little. Second, the actual practice: From morning to evening, strive to grasp the dream of tonight. Generate a strong desire to recognize yourself in the dream. From after dinner until bedtime, do not stop the desire. When going to bed, intensify the desire. When falling asleep, visualize a four-petaled red lotus in the center of the throat, a white Oṃ (藏文:ༀ,梵文天城体:ॐ,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ,汉语字面意思:Oṃ) at the navel, and A, Nutara white or red in the four directions, arranged clockwise from the front. Starting from A, gradually grasp the mind, and finally focus on Oṃ (藏文:ༀ,梵文天城体:ॐ,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ,汉语字面意思:Oṃ) and fall asleep. The sign that the dream has been grasped is that various fears will arise, such as being in dangerous places and on mountain peaks. Second, cutting off wandering: If you cannot grasp the dream, generate a strong desire and, when falling asleep, visualize a black dot the size of a bean at the eyebrow center. If that doesn't work, visualize a white dot inside the eyebrow center, and visualize the outside as before. If that still doesn't work, you will wander greatly.

Third, abandoning the places of straying: In empty places, etc., running naked, shouting, and various kinds of songs; dwelling on high and frightening cliffs, causing fear. Then, reciting as before, lying on one's back at bedtime, visualizing a white bindu the size of a mustard seed at the eyebrow center, and falling asleep, one will surely grasp (the dream). If one cannot grasp it at all, request empowerment from the lama, perform a hero's feast and ma, etc. If one grasps a little but not completely, recite the hundred-syllable mantra and perform the instructions for purifying obscurations. Second, cultivation, divided into two, the first being the preliminary: During the daytime, strongly generate the intention to seize and cultivate dreams. Thinking that it is now the time for dreaming, go to the top of Mount Meru and view the four continents, sit on the sun and moon, go to the Thirty-Three Heavens and view its palaces, go to Oddiyana (Sanskrit: Uḍḍiyāna, located in the Swat Valley region of present-day Pakistan), Tushita (Sanskrit: Tuṣita), and Sukhavati (Sanskrit: Sukhāvatī), etc., to listen to the Dharma, and generate the intention to cut off exaggerations and diminutions. Second, the main practice: Falling asleep as when seizing dreams, if one seizes the dream, going to Oddiyana, etc., is as before. Third, increasing, divided into two, the first being the preliminary: During the daytime, strongly generate the intention to seize, cultivate, and increase dreams. Other than that, as before, whatever one dreams in the dream, increase it greatly, and request Dharma from them, etc. May all appearances, such as cliffs, etc., transform into dakinis with dog faces or yidams, and emanate oneself and them into hundreds and thousands. Falling asleep in such a state, during the second, the main practice, increase as desired. Thus, if one is slightly able to cultivate and increase dreams, one can abandon (the straying). If bliss does not arise in the body, fourth, through meditating on suchness, realization becomes excellent, divided into three, the first being: In the center of the eyebrows, At the upper end of the central channel, visualize a white bindu the size of a mustard seed, then fall asleep, perform the application of the mudra of equipoise, generate bliss, and cover it with bliss and emptiness, then practice. Even if one does this, if one is still attached to the bliss of the body, second, abandoning the taste of increasing afflictions: Meditate on the suchness of the nature of all dharmas, especially placing the dream in equipoise on the meaning that is beyond expression. Thus thinking.
