It is said: They pierce with hands and iron, iron hooks, and then employ them. Their lifespan is also, the longest of animals is a kalpa. As stated in the Abhidharmakosha, it is suffering. Think as before, there is no way to be born there. Second, thinking about the suffering of change, among the two, the common suffering of common change is: No matter how much happiness of samsara is obtained, it is not stable. Because after separating from it again, one must experience many sufferings, so it is meaningless. For example, after being born as Indra, one falls to the ground again, like suffering being vomited from the mouth. After being born as a Chakravartin, one is born as the lowest of all. After obtaining the happiness of the desire and form realms, one is born in hell. Even after being born as the sun and moon, one enters darkness, etc., the suffering of change is immeasurable. As it says in the Letter to a Friend: Indra, having become worthy of offering in the world, falls back to the earth again due to the power of karma. Even having become a Chakravartin, in samsara one becomes a servant. And, the desire pleasure of the heavenly realm is extremely great, and Brahma having obtained the pleasure of detachment, again, becoming firewood for the fire of Avici hell, one should rely on uninterrupted suffering. Having obtained the sun and moon, illuminating the entire world with the light of one's own body, again, after going into the darkness of darkness, one cannot even see one's own hand when one stretches it out. Like that and so on, just like before, there is no way to be born there. Second, specifically thinking about the suffering of change in humans is: Although in general there is such suffering of change in samsara, because it has not manifested, it is okay even if one does not believe it. But especially, if one observes humans well, the rich will become beggars, the strong will become weak, those who have become enemies will become friends, those who have become friends will become enemies, etc., observing the people of the village and relatives, and the people of the country, they will gradually change from their previous place and leave. In short, everything accumulated will eventually be exhausted, the end of high places is low places, the end of gathering is separation. Like that and so on, just like before, there is no way to be born there. Third, thinking about the suffering of conditioned existence is: In samsara, in order to abandon suffering and achieve happiness, one strives in activities such as achieving enjoyment and retinue,

Ma. Because of not knowing satisfaction with desire, even if one is accomplished, one still seeks others and others, so that even if one works until old age and death, one is never satisfied, and even if one has been working for lifetimes, one is never satisfied with the completion of the work. The Four Hundred says: Work is done with effort, and once done, it is destroyed without effort. Even so, alas for Dharma! There is no one who can be free from attachment to work. Like this. The method of not being born there, etc., is the same as before. Thinking like this, no matter where beings are born, if one is determined to have no happy thoughts, then whatever one does will become Dharma. Second, the difficulty of obtaining leisure and endowment, the greatness of benefit, and the impermanence of dwelling for a long time, the first of these three thoughts is: one must strive to find a way not to be born in the suffering cycle. And the basis for accomplishing this is this very body of leisure and endowment. Leisure and endowment, as it says in the Letter to a Friend: Abandoning those who hold wrong views, animals, hungry ghosts, and births in hell, places without the Buddha's teachings and borderlands, births as barbarians and foolish stutterers, and any of the long-lived gods, these are called the eight faults of having no leisure. Abandoning these, being born as a human, being born in the central land, having complete faculties, having faith in the holy places, that is, being respectful to the discipline, not having committed evil deeds, that is, not having personally committed the five heinous crimes, nor having allowed others to do so, these are the five self-endowments. The Buddha appeared in the world, he taught the Dharma, his teachings abide, and there are others who enter the teachings, and for the sake of others, patrons and others subsequently treat them with compassion, these are the five other-endowments. Possessing these ten endowments. This is very difficult to obtain. The Engaging in Bodhisattva Deeds says: Therefore, the Bhagavan said, just as a turtle's neck enters the hole of a yoke floating in the vast ocean, it is very difficult to obtain a human body. Like this. The reason for being difficult to obtain is: if one looks at the realm of sentient beings, it is inconceivable not to have obtained a body. Even if one has obtained a body, it is inconceivable not to have obtained a human body. Even if one has obtained a human body, obtaining leisure and endowment is only a possibility. Therefore, at this time of obtaining rare leisure and endowment, one must take the essence, and that is to practice the path. The supreme of the path is to practice the pith instructions of the path with its fruit with one-pointedness.
