Reverence to the Earth! As Glingre said, "If one realizes the nature of one's own mind, one is a Buddha. If one cuts through the additions and subtractions, one is also complete." Therefore, all the sacred sutras and tantras agree that whether or not one realizes the nature of one's own mind as it is, the stakes are extremely high in terms of transforming into either samsara or nirvana. Regarding the practice of cutting off the root of the mind, some people believe that when they examine their own mind in a state of equanimity, and find that it does not exist anywhere, whether externally, internally, in arising, abiding, or ceasing, then when they see that it does not exist anywhere, they have cut off the root of the mind, recognized the nature of the mind, and attained the meaning of Mahamudra. As the Doha says, "All minds and appearances, if sought, cannot be found, and the seeker is nowhere to be found. Non-existence is unborn and unceasing in the three times, therefore, it does not change into anything else, which is the natural state of great bliss. Therefore, all appearances are the Dharmakaya." Some others believe that by examining the mind, one finds that it does not exist in any part of one's own body from the crown of the head to the soles of the feet, and that it is not any tangible thing such as color or shape, and that this is seeing the Dharma nature of the mind. As Zhang Rinpoche said, "The seed of all, the nature of one's own mind, is no different from the minds of all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, and appears as primordial wisdom Dharmakaya. It is not matter, it is naturally clear, it is not a thing, it is empty of color and measure." They think so. Still others believe that by not cutting off the traces of past consciousness, not welcoming future consciousness, and leaving the present consciousness in its raw state, one can directly and clearly see the nature of the mind. At that time, the root of the mind is cut and the nature of the mind is recognized. As Saraha said, "Leave it raw, unaltered, and relaxed." And the great accomplished Gling said, "If you leave it unaltered and raw, realization will arise. If you maintain it like a stream, completion will also arise. Completely abandon all aims and signs, yogi, always abide in equality." Other sayings are that whatever object arises in the mind, such as forms, sounds, etc., and whatever good or bad thoughts arise, such as virtue or non-virtue, without making any acceptance or rejection,

Looking nakedly at rigpa, it will dissolve on its own. Afterwards, settle into that empty, clear state where there is no grasping at anything. In this way, seeing is realizing the nature of reality and recognizing the face of the mind. As Gangama said: If you wish to realize the meaning beyond mind and action, Cut off your own mind and rest in naked awareness. Let the water of defiled thoughts become clear. Do not accept or reject appearances, but leave them in their natural state. If there is no rejection or acceptance, that is the Great Seal. So it is thought. Also, many think that: Whatever kind of conceptual thought arises, do not let it dissolve on its own, but step on it. By expanding it on top of that, it will be self-liberated. This is simultaneous liberation. The more conceptual thoughts there are, the more dharmakayas there are. As Lama Zhang said: From the state of resting in that way, If conceptual thoughts suddenly arise, Do not think that it is something other than the clear light dharmakaya. Therefore, the arising of conceptual thoughts, Emptiness arises from emptiness, Dharmakaya arises from dharmakaya, Union arises from union. This is the meaning of the instruction. Secondly, in the "Sublime Question of the Protector of the Land": Because they do not know the nature of emptiness, peace, and unborn, Beings wander in samsara. Those beings, with their great compassion, guide them with skillful means And hundreds of wisdoms. It means that because they do not understand the profound emptiness and selflessness, beings wander in samsara. For those beings who wander in samsara, the teacher, who possesses great compassion, in order to liberate them from samsara, uses skillful means to realize selflessness and hundreds of wisdoms to establish selflessness, directly and indirectly leading them onto the path of realizing selflessness. So it is said. Similarly, Lord Shantideva also said: All these branches, The Buddha spoke for the sake of wisdom. And Jowo Je also said: The eighty-four thousand collections of Dharma, All that is spoken, Flows and converges into this nature of reality. It means that all the eighty-four thousand collections of Dharma spoken by the Buddhas ultimately lead sentient beings to directly realize the nature of reality or selflessness, as a means to reach the ultimate fruition. That is to say, in order to directly realize selflessness, one must first establish selflessness through hearing and thinking, and then meditate.
