Even if others have been kind to you, do not boast excessively, because you should practice exchanging self with others; even if you are a wise person, a monk, or have practiced the Dharma and engaged in prolonged asceticism, etc., it is for your own benefit, so there is no need to boast to others. Do not sell favors to others. Have few expectations of people. It is said that praying to the gods is the teaching of Rechungpa. Do not be jealous of others. Do not respond to others' criticisms and harms in public, and avoid mental disturbance. Potowa said: If we Dharma practitioners do not become the antidote to clinging to Dharma, then our patience is less than that of a sheep, and our jealousy is more severe than that of a robber. In that way, we cannot understand the Dharma, so we must become the antidote to clinging to Dharma. Do not be momentarily happy, that is, do not show joy or displeasure at the slightest thing, and do not hurt the hearts of friends. Do not desire great fame, that is, do not expect others to give excessive praise for your practice of Dharma, helping others, doing good deeds, etc. In short, avoid seeking fame. Therefore, these instructions are methods to prevent mind training from declining and to continuously progress. In short, Gyalse Rinpoche said: Throughout your life, you must cultivate Bodhicitta well through both common and uncommon methods, so that you may gain certainty in your practice. When the five degenerations are rampant, it is precisely the time to transform them into the path of Bodhi. This nectar-like essence of oral instructions is transmitted from Serlingpa. That is to say, because the five degenerations of time, beings, lifespan, afflictions, and views are rampant, the favorable conditions for happiness are few, and adverse and unfavorable circumstances are very many. If one does not use other antidotes of the Dharma, then for those who practice mind training, the more adverse conditions there are, the more virtuous deeds will increase, just as the more firewood there is, the more the flames will blaze. Transforming all afflictions and adverse conditions into the path of Bodhi is a unique characteristic not found in other teachings. This nectar-like essence of oral instructions, which benefits all beings of high and low capacity and can be integrated into one's mind, comes from Jowo Atisha's three teachers, among whom the most kind is Jowo Serling

This is the profound Dharma teaching transmitted from Lingpa. So it is said. The karma of previous practice awakened, and due to one's own strong aspiration, enduring suffering and bad words, one requested the essential instruction on taming self-grasping. Now, even if I die, I have no regrets. So it is said. The great virtuous friend Changkhaba, due to the awakening of previous karmic connections, had special faith in this Dharma, and with great diligence, requested the essential instruction on taming self-grasping, the root of all Dharmas. Having heard it from the oral transmission of Jowo and his sons, and having practiced it well in his heart, he developed a mind that cherishes others more than himself, and completely abandoned attachment to his own desires. The ultimate meaning of entering the Dharma has been accomplished, and having gained certainty, he has no regrets. The last two verses are the author's concluding words. Second, supplementing with the essential instructions of the lineage: Like this, practicing this profound mind-training Dharma, if one is alone, one will feel lonely, but all suffering and happiness can be transformed into the path through mind-training. Moreover, the profound Dharma will cause negative karma to increase and the mind to waver. If one wants to leave but is reluctant, or wants to stay but wants to leave, one should practice like this: Your nature is like this, this dwelling is also very good, and your mind is also very happy. Otherwise, with your endurance, it is already fortunate that you have not fallen into hell, and it is fortunate that you have not experienced torment. Furthermore, one should think intensely about fear, and give oneself a strong scolding, deprive oneself of food, engage in difficult practice, deprive oneself of clothing, accept lowly things, endure suffering and happiness, and practice antidotes. As it is said in the Stages of a Bodhisattva, one should give oneself a severe rebuke. When one is sick, one should act as a caretaker. In front of doctors, caretakers, and relatives, if the thought arises that there is a better way to do this, this illness cannot be replaced by anyone else, only self-grasping can replace it. If medicine and caretaking were useful, it would not have been like this before. Even if there is no such thought, no one can escape this fear. Now, self-grasping, you need this, so let it satisfy you, think like this, and on this basis, learn to take on the illnesses and evil spirits of others. Furthermore, in the teachings of Jowo Serlingpa, all discriminations should be destroyed, and all antidotes should be shattered. All aspirations should be unified, and all paths
