Everything is cut off at once. The four dharmas of purification are needed to subdue the borderlands, and they are needed in the degenerate age to endure the evil retinue's wrongdoings. It is said that as soon as a thought arises, it should be destroyed in the state of mind training or emptiness. All antidotes are not slowly cultivated from the outside, but as soon as afflictions arise, they are immediately destroyed like a thunderbolt. Do not set up many immediate and long-term plans, but try to reduce greed and self-grasping in your mind to one. When you are free from self-grasping, you will become a Buddha, so cut it off at once and do not need to calculate the order. If you summarize all the antidotes on the side of purification, they are included in these four dharmas. Bad circumstances are virtuous friends, ghosts and demons are emanations of the victors, diseases are brooms for sins and obscurations, and suffering is the tool of Dharma nature. The four dharmas of all afflictions are: subduing the borderlands, enduring the evil retinue's wrongdoings, and so on, in the degenerate age, and so on. It is said that relying on bad circumstances to accumulate merit, purify obscurations, remember the holy Dharma, and improve realization, etc., will do the work of a virtuous friend, so there is no need to abandon bad circumstances. If the illusions of gods and demons and the harm of evil spirits occur, they will become helpers in increasing virtuous deeds and vows, so they are emanations of the lama and the Buddha, so there is no need to be afraid. When practicing the holy Dharma properly, various diseases will arise in the body due to past bad karma, not to mention serious illnesses. Even if it is just a headache, it can purify all the sins and obscurations accumulated from beginningless time like a broom sweeping the floor, as repeatedly stated in the sutras, so cultivate joy in disease. If suffering arises in the mind, looking at the nature of suffering will reveal emptiness. No matter how great the suffering is, it is a tool of Dharma nature, so there is no need to be discouraged. If these things happen, it is good to have them, because they can be taken as helpers in practice. Therefore, the key is not to abandon the four dharmas of all afflictions, but to practice them. Happiness is a great oppression, suffering is a great conclusion, the most unnecessary thing is to get what you want, and bad omens lead to the cliff. The four dharmas that reverse the antidote are needed to subdue the borderlands.
