It is a measure of the degree of cultivation. Furthermore, if one is proficient in both giving and taking, then no matter what suffering arises in body and mind, one will think that the karmic consequences previously taken from others have now ripened, and thus a special joy will arise again. In short, no matter what unpleasant things happen, if one does not feel unhappy but instead takes them as aids to the practice of mind training, then that is the measure of proficiency in mind training. At that point, the antidote has reached its full potential. If one can cope even in a distracted state, then one is proficient. Just as a skilled rider can ride a horse even when distracted without falling off, so too, when mind training is proficient, even if one is attacked by negative circumstances such as insults and accusations from a place of unexamined judgment, one can immediately control them with the antidote and turn them into aids for bodhicitta, rather than being controlled by negative circumstances. This indicates that mind training is proficient. Moreover, since death can come at any time, if it suddenly occurs, I have no other recourse than this method. If one can be confident that "this Dharma is true, and my aspirations have been fulfilled," and thus feel at ease, then one can face death with equanimity. If one possesses these signs of proficiency, then all illnesses and evil spirits will also become aids to the increase of inner realization. However, this does not mean that one does not need to continue practicing, but rather that one has reached the point where the antidote is sufficient to deal with what needs to be abandoned. Sixth, the precepts of mind training are taught: Always train in the three common essentials, do not contradict the vows of mind training, do not let mind training become a distraction, and do not let mind training become one-sided. The first is that we are practicing mind training, and if anyone says that this will cause harm, thereby disrespecting cause and effect, such as killing livestock indiscriminately, etc. Or, saying that with this mind training, nothing else is needed, thereby abandoning all actions that contradict the common practice. Mentally train in mind training, and in action, from the Bodhisattvacharyavatara to Vajrayana, all vows and commitments must be kept pure. Actions and immediate liberation must be rectified to be in accordance with the Tripitaka. The second is to abandon all actions that cause interference, such as sleeping in haunted places, cutting down close trees, going to places with infectious diseases, and associating with those who have broken vows and those possessed by evil spirits such as lepers. One must follow the great tradition of the Kadampa established by Geshe Tonpa (དགེ་བཤེས་སྟོན་པ,?-1064) at Radreng (རྭ་སྒྲེང, located in present-day Linzhou County, Lhasa), and not contradict its path of liberation.

It is necessary to practice the four dharmas. Shawopa said that if wealth and land are lost, causing the Dharma to become idle chatter, then that is a loss. Avoid mixing with those who have broken vows, those who behave improperly, and all sinners, and ensure that all actions do not become idle chatter. The third is that some people can endure the oppression of humans but cannot endure the harm of non-humans, because they are too attached to ghosts, or the opposite. Some people are not respectful to those of high status but instead despise and insult them. Some people only love their own family but hate outsiders. Some people only tame sentient beings but do not tame the five elements. All of these are because they are biased towards one side, so one must tame all beings without discrimination. Change intentions, maintain the original nature. Through thinking and practicing the exchange of self and others, remember the yoga that is inseparable for even a moment, and through actions, ensure that the actions of body and speech do not change from before, be able to keep secrets, be able to get along harmoniously with others, and ensure that previous virtuous deeds and actions can be kept secret and do not change from before. Some people, after hearing the Dharma, abandon their previous practice and conduct, make new friends, and abandon the old, which is very bad. Mind training should be done in such a way that it appears small on the surface but can actually cut off major problems, so that one's own mind stream can mature without others noticing. Do not speak of impaired limbs. This means that one must not speak to anyone about worldly faults, such as this person is disabled, and faults of the Dharma, such as this person behaves improperly, etc., and one must avoid saying these things. Do not think about any other aspects. In general, do not observe the faults of all sentient beings, especially those who have entered the Buddhist gate, and especially one's own Dharma friends. Even if one is training one's mind, one instead likes to say that this person is simply impossible to get along with, that is also not okay, because one is training one's mind but is thinking about faults from the perspective of others, which is not okay. If one uncontrollably sees faults, it is because one's own appearance is impure, the other person has no faults, and all sentient beings have Buddha-nature or essence, think like that and observe one's own faults. Abandon all expectations of results. After training the mind, expecting to be respected by people in this life, expecting to receive offerings and fame, expecting to receive help from non-humans, expecting to receive human happiness in the next life,
