This degenerate age is transformed into the path to enlightenment. In general, the teachings of the Bhagavan Shakyamuni Buddha appeared during the time of the five degenerations. In particular, now, in this final age, which is even more degenerate than the five degenerations, all sentient beings think only of afflictions, do only evil deeds and sins, and delight in all that is evil. Even if someone is good, it deeply pierces their own consciousness, so sentient beings gather together, using their body, speech, and mind only to harm others. Furthermore, the non-human protectors of the teachings who delight in white dharma have gone to the pure realms for the sake of the Bodhisattvas. Those who delight in black dharma, with their power and abilities increasing, bring many inauspicious things to sentient beings. Therefore, in this present time, sentient beings in general experience many causes of suffering of various kinds. In particular, those who practice the teachings encounter various obstacles. Therefore, in this time of entangled adverse conditions, if one does not train in such a dharma, no matter what dharma one enters, one will not be able to complete the dharma. But if one enters this dharma and strives, all those adverse conditions will become friends in training on the path to enlightenment. Another benefit is that practicing virtue for an eon in a pure realm is not as good as practicing virtue for a year in this time of the decline of the Buddha's teachings, because one will complete the accumulations. Therefore, for those who are able to train their minds, the degeneration of the five degenerations can be transformed into a benefit for the mind. If one knows how to train the mind, then the so-called "city of the source of happiness" refers to the body of the yogi who meditates on mind training. Because all the happiness of this life and the next, samsara and nirvana, self and others, depends on this present body. Therefore, concentrate all efforts on this alone, and strive to blend dharma with the mind, penetrating to the heart, entering the path of dharma, tasting the flavor of dharma, and practicing with one mind, it will not take long to fully accomplish all the perfections of benefiting others. They say. Tsongkhapa condensed these meanings into a definitive teaching, stating: Because of the increase of one's own attachment, if one can endure suffering and harsh words...

Ah! I request the essential instructions for subduing self-grasping. Now, even if I die, I have no regrets! This is the great yogi Changkhawa, showing the manner of practice, expressing joyful words of resolute determination by having conquered the enemy this time. The words of Lama Delek Kunga Gyatso. By the merit of gathering with altruistic intention, may mind training like an elephant bear all beings, and may the mountain of self-regard be utterly destroyed. May the rays of your fame pervade all directions, like a magnet attracting iron, may minds be moved by your sweet reputation, and may we come before you. Seeing your rare face, great meaning is accomplished. In the sky of the heart of the Golden Island Kagyu lineage, mind training is like the sun in the sky, radiant with light, but now it is obscured by clouds of evil thoughts, so the difference between gold and brass becomes unclear. Those fortunate ones who wish to abandon the suffering of themselves and others, abandon the inferior path that speaks of incompleteness, and enter the path of the chariot of the supreme bodhisattvas. Other than this, the hope of attaining enlightenment is slim. This is the essence of the Kadampa tradition, wonderfully stirred from all the Tripitaka! Sarva Mangalam! Volume Four of the Treasury of Instructions, Commentary on the Seven Points of Mind Training.
