One should repeatedly contemplate in order to understand its meaning. This is the thirty-third contemplation. At this time, it would be excellent to briefly explain the nature of the common peaceful nirvana, as well as the individual natures of the three trainings. Although the guidance of shamatha and the contemplation of the selflessness of the individual also belong to the proper meaning of this time, the focus of practice is not placed on the path of the intermediate being, but is attributed to the aspiration of the great being. Therefore, at this time, one only practices the order of contemplation that desires to learn from the path of liberation. The above is the completion of the practice of the intermediate being. Now, thirdly, learning the uncommon aspiration of the great being involves learning the entrance to aspiration, as well as the various methods of expanding it. Firstly, in connection with the previous text, when thinking about the faults of samsara, it seems necessary to obtain a nirvana that is free from samsara. In order to obtain it, I must learn the three trainings. Therefore, the nirvana to be obtained should be divided into three types of bodhi: the bodhi of the Hearers, the bodhi of the Solitary Realizers, and the perfect bodhi. Among these three bodhis, the two bodhis of the Hearers and Solitary Realizers do not have complete self-benefit in terms of abandonment and realization, and lack the vast activities of benefiting other sentient beings. Abandonment is incomplete, only the afflictive obscurations are abandoned, but not the obscurations to knowledge. Realization is incomplete, only the selflessness of the individual and the temporary dependent origination are realized, but not the selflessness of phenomena and the ultimate dependent origination. The differences in qualities are also only scattered and sporadic, without endless growth. Not saving the kind beings from suffering, but only seeking the means to liberate oneself, is shameless, narrow-minded, without foresight, and is a liberation that abandons the benefit of others. Those noble ones will not fall back into samsara, and their minds naturally abide in non-proliferation. Because they also possess many qualities. Compared to us ordinary beings, it is already an unimaginably great feat. However, compared to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, whether it is the way of abandoning the two obscurations, or the way of increasing the wisdom of knowing as it is and knowing all that is, or the way of possessing endless qualities, or the immeasurable power of compassion and the ability of miraculous powers, and in all times and all directions

If one could create inconceivable activities that benefit sentient beings, then the liberation of hearers and solitary realizers would seem very small. For example, the difference is as great as that between Mount Meru and a mustard seed. Therefore, one should abandon self-interest, perfect all realizations, and attain the supreme liberation of perfect enlightenment, which has the nature of inexhaustible activities for the benefit of others. One should repeatedly think: How can I attain Buddhahood? This is the thirty-fourth mind-training practice. Second, regarding the categories for elaborating on it, there are two: contemplating the relationship of cause and effect, and contemplating the meaning of cause and effect. Also, one should meditate in this way, combining it with focus. I must attain Buddhahood, and to attain Buddhahood, it seems that I must have the mind of enlightenment as the cause of Buddhahood. The cause of that is compassion. The cause of that is loving-kindness. The cause of that is knowing and repaying kindness. The cause of that is recognizing all sentient beings as parents. I must cultivate these in order. All sentient beings are my parents, and their kindness is very great. How wonderful it would be if they were free from suffering! How wonderful it would be if they were happy and joyful! In order to establish them in happiness, I must attain Buddhahood. After attaining Buddhahood, I will also place all sentient beings on the level of Buddhahood, I will repeatedly meditate in this way. This is the thirty-fifth mind-training practice. Here, in the oral instructions transmitted from Geshe Tumtonpa Lodro Drakpa, a disciple of Geshe Sharawa, there are these five stages of cause and effect. Also, in the teachings written by Geshe Mus Namkha, transmitted from Tsangpa Rinpoche, a disciple of Jawulwa, called "The Stages of Great Vehicle Mind Training," it appears like this: The uncommon Great Vehicle, Atisha's seven causes and effects, says that one must gradually train the mind. That is, if considered from the perspective of the seven causes and effects, it is not without cause or condition, but arises from the mind of enlightenment. That arises from superior pure intention. That arises from great compassion. That arises from great loving-kindness. That arises from agreeableness. That arises from knowing and repaying kindness. It is said that that arises from cultivating the thought of mother. It is said that these are the seven causes and effects.
