Secondly, the concise explanation and the detailed explanation. Firstly, if asked, what are the respective natures of these? What is wisdom, and what is skillful means? In order to dispel ignorance, wrong knowledge, and doubt, regarding the nature of skillful means and wisdom, which appear as if mixed together, the distinctions or characteristics of each should be clearly explained in a non-inverted and truthful manner without confusion. Secondly, the detailed explanation is divided into three: determining skillful means, the necessity of familiarizing oneself with it, and determining wisdom. Firstly, having abandoned or separated the Perfection of Wisdom, all white virtuous dharmas represented by the Perfection of Generosity, which are apprehended by the mind of enlightenment, are said by the Buddhas of the three times to belong to the category of skillful means. Secondly, starting from impermanence and the law of karma, through the power of making the practice of skillful means such as generosity extremely stable, the bodhisattva himself cultivates the wisdom that cuts off the object of clinging to characteristics by focusing on any internal or external object. This has great power in dispelling obscurations. Therefore, through it, one will quickly attain unsurpassed enlightenment. If one neglects the aspect of skillful means and only meditates on selflessness, one will not achieve unsurpassed enlightenment. Thirdly, the five aggregates, eighteen elements, and twelve sense bases, these thirty-five dharmas are the objects of observation or the objects. Above these, the dharma or aspect to be determined is: one must realize and know that there is no inherent birth. The main cause of wandering in samsara is clinging to the appearing phenomena as real. Among all clinging to reality, clinging to inherent birth is the basis of other clinging to reality, so it must be eliminated. Therefore, one must realize that there is no inherent birth. In this way, it is not like something that existed before and then disappeared, but it is empty from the beginning. Therefore, knowing that all dharmas that have become inherently unborn, one should know that they are inherently empty. Among the two, skillful means and wisdom, this is completely called wisdom, the wisdom of

This is also the main content of the practice. Second, there are two ways to practice Vipassanā: detailed explanation and conclusion. The first part has three points: the basis of Vipassanā, the method of practicing Vipassanā, and the result of the practice. The first part has two points: the wisdom arising from thought based on reason, and the wisdom arising from hearing based on scripture. The first part has three points: the reasoning of "existence and non-existence of arising and ceasing" by observing the result, the reasoning of "Vajra Splinter" by observing the cause, and the reasoning of "one and different entity" by observing the nature. The first point is: Previously, reason was used to analyze the absence of self-nature arising, but the realists say: It is unreasonable, because the self-nature arising and ceasing of all phenomena is established by direct perception. If the sprout is self-nature arising, then in the causal stage, is it existent, non-existent, both, or neither that arises by self-nature? If according to the first case, the sprout, as the subject to be established, exists in the causal stage, arising is unreasonable, because existence has already been established, and there is no need to arise again. If it is already established and still arises, then arising will become infinite. If according to the second case, non-existence in the causal stage, self-nature arising is also unreasonable, because even if the energy of the cause is as large as a mountain, it cannot produce a sprout established by self-nature. For example, flowers in the sky. If it does not exist in the causal stage, in general, it is not necessarily non-existent, but if something established by self-nature does not exist in the causal stage, then it must not exist in all aspects, as the saying goes, "What has arisen before is now gone," then it will fall into nihilism. This is the reason stated in the scriptures. If according to the third case, it will fall into the two faults mentioned earlier. In the causal stage, both existence and non-existence exist, and self-nature arising is also unreasonable. If according to the fourth case, it is also unreasonable, because in the causal stage, the third thing that is neither existent nor non-existent does not exist. Thus, the sprout, as the subject to be established, is not self-nature arising, because existence, non-existence, both, and neither are not self-nature arising. Therefore, the object of wisdom, non-arising, is established by reason. The Seventy Stanzas on Emptiness says: That which exists, because it exists, is not born.
