Due to attachment to fame and gain, praising oneself and disparaging others; being miserly and not giving wealth to those who are suffering and helpless; not listening to others' confessions; attacking others with anger; abandoning the Mahayana Dharma; and propagating similar false teachings. These are called the four root downfalls. Minor transgressions are said to be eighty in the Compendium of Trainings and forty-six in the Twenty Commitments. Therefore, one should train in being mindful, having awareness, and having vigilance, so as not to be stained by these downfalls. One should continuously confess during the six periods of day and night. The training of aspiration is to cultivate the three aspects of bodhicitta: equality of self and others, exchange of self and others, and cherishing others. The training of engagement is to train in the six perfections. Second, regarding the instructions on the oral transmission of natural meditation: With the seven-point posture of meditation, visualize in the center of your heart a drop the size of a sparrow's egg, a form of light with no definite color. As it is said, "The bindu is emptiness, unborn," when examining that bindu, various colors appear without being fixed. When examining those colors, they do not establish in anything, and one rests single-pointedly in that state. When the mind abides through such examination and meditation, like that example, the objects of meditation, the act of meditation, the meditator, and so on, are metaphors for the activities. Although these inner and outer appearances arise as mere dependent origination, they are merely appearances and do not establish in the slightest, like the appearance of a dream. Thus, the practitioner who experiences this, if he looks closely and searches for the nature of his own mind, will find that it does not establish as any shape or color, and therefore he will determine it to be non-grasping emptiness. Objects are unreal, empty forms, and the mind that grasps them is momentary and without parts. Thus, if one closely examines the antidote to the experiencer, which is his own nature, he will find that it is clear and without support. If the awareness, which is empty and clear like space, not established in either the grasped or the grasper, arises as inexpressible, inconceivable, and beyond mind, then by relaxing in that state without acceptance or rejection, one will realize the meaning of the two selflessnesses. Having realized the two selflessnesses in equipoise in this way, one should maintain it with mindfulness in the post-meditation period, determining that whatever arises is insubstantial, a clear appearance like an illusion, and remembering that it is the deity.

One should clearly visualize the pure appearance as the form of the Prajñāpāramitā Mother and maintain it continuously. Fifth, regarding the common instructions of Kriya and Carya, there are two parts: general and specific. First, in the beginning of the four ways of taking the path, taking the vehicle as the path, the entrance is: entering through the three doors of bathing, clean conduct, and purity. The view is: realizing the great wisdom of emptiness and clarity, which is the purity free from the four extremes of ultimate truth, one considers its qualities to be pure in the mandala of the three families of deities in relative truth. As it says in the Stages of the Path: 'Because of not knowing the non-duality of equality, ultimate purity is only the nature of reality; the four wisdom qualities are relative deities.' The ethics are: in the Secret General Tantra, the three general vows and the thirteen specific vows are explained, and so on. The meditation is: in the mere Kriya Tantra practices, it is not possible to meditate on oneself as the deity. But here, in the special Kriya Tantra, which is common with the Carya Tantra, the method of accomplishment is as follows: 'Emptiness, letters, sound, and form, and the six mudras are signs.' Thus, through the six deities, generating the Samaya Being in front of a servant or subject, inviting the Wisdom Being, viewing it as a lord, master, or king, making offerings, sealing with the Samaya mudra, and then performing recitations, etc. Or, in the special Carya Tantra of great wisdom, which is common with the mere Yoga Tantra, the method of accomplishment is to view the Samaya Being and the Wisdom Being in front as friends, without any superior or inferior, and to accomplish siddhis through any appropriate method. The conduct is: six actions, namely, the time of entering, food, clothing, cleanliness, the object of focus, and the actions of reciting mantras. The result is: although it is believed that the state of the three families of Vajradhara, the three bodies, and the five wisdoms will be attained in seven lifetimes or, at the longest, in three or eight kalpas. But here, according to the Unsurpassed Secret Mantra, the self-path of the Kriya and Carya vehicles refers to the tenth-level Bodhisattva as a Buddha, but it does not accept the attainment of the ultimate perfect Buddhahood. Furthermore, the distinction of the Upaya vehicle is, as it says in the Stages of View: 'The view of both tantras is that the view and conduct are consistent above and below.' That is to say, it is not only a vehicle that relies on both Kriya and Yoga, but here the great chariot.
