The main deity of the mandala, glorious Great Supreme Heruka, is introduced as the yidam deity. Furthermore, knowing that the indivisibility of one's own mind's essence and wisdom is inherently the nature of the union of the father and mother deities from the beginning, all appearances are taken onto the path as the play of gods and goddesses. Third, taking the essence onto the path: the essence of the deity struck by the flower, or the general mantra Guhyajnana Secret Wisdom) itself is introduced as the mantra to be recited. Furthermore, all sounds are taken onto the path as the sound of the indestructible mantra of emptiness. Fourth, taking empowerment onto the path: the thirty-six supreme empowerments gathered by the four rivers, and the general and special precepts related to them, such as not transgressing the boundaries of protection, etc. In short, all appearances, sounds, and movements are determined to be the unceasing play of wisdom, the unborn essence. All appearances of the container and its contents are the mandala of the support and the supported, all sounds are the sound of mantras, and all thoughts are viewed and meditated upon as the equality of dharmata. By not transgressing this in all post-meditation states, one trains in the method of purifying whatever arises into pure appearance. Furthermore, one should maintain unwavering devotion and respect for the noble lama who teaches this, and unwavering affection for the dharma brothers and sisters who practice in this way. Second, the instructions on the practice of indwelling meditation are twofold: meditating on the deity and meditating on the essential instructions. First, the method of meditating on the deity is the small indwelling meditation: in this way, all appearing phenomena are gathered into my aggregates, elements, and sense bases, and knowing that all of this is inherently enlightened as the nature of the deity, one rests in equanimity for a moment. From this state, whichever deity is struck by the flower, or whichever main deity of the mandala, such as Great Supreme Heruka, one may meditate on. By proclaiming one's own generation stage mantra as the natural sound of dharmata, one clearly visualizes it like a reflection appearing in a clear lake, and trains in the appearance and attachment to the deity for a long time. When it becomes clear and stable, one meditates on a red bindu at the crown of the head of the deity, and a white bindu one cubit above it. Both are the size of a bean and blazing with light. When it is clear, a red bindu of light, the size of a bean, radiates from the left nostril and strikes the red bindu at the crown of the head, and from there also

Now, radiate light throughout the expanse of space. Offer to the Buddhas and purify the obscurations of sentient beings. All appearances of samsara and nirvana dissolve into light, converging and dissolving into the red bindu. Then, it also dissolves into light, contemplate it flickering. Again, from the right nostril, a white bindu of light, the size of a bean, radiates forth. When it strikes the white bindu above, light rays emanate from it, accomplishing the two benefits. Samsara and nirvana dissolve and converge, dissolving into the white bindu. Then, it also dissolves into light, the white bindu enters the red bindu, dissolving from the Brahma aperture into the heart center, and abandoning the mind in the state of non-duality of bliss and emptiness. Second, the practice of the pith instruction is the intermediate meditation. There are also two aspects to it. The method of meditating on the upper gate is: In the center of one's own body, which is vast emptiness, free from obscurations and hindrances, visualize the central channel (Tibetan: རྩ་ཨ་བ་དྷཱུ་ཏི་; Sanskrit Devanagari: अवधूत; Sanskrit Romanization: avadhūta; Chinese literal meaning: Abandoner) like a medium-sized arrow shaft, white on the outside and red on the inside, clear and transparent, with an empty tube-like form, standing straight and upright. From that, visualize the chakra petals at the crown, throat, heart, and navel as actually existing, or even if you don't visualize them, it's fine, because meditating on the central channel is the center of all four chakras. In essence, it is considered to have been meditated upon. Four fingers below the navel, visualize the fire wheel, and below that, visualize the wind wheel at the genitals. That is, the central channel is the life force, the wind and fire wheels are the base, the navel is the steps, the heart wheel is the vase, the throat is the neck and dharma wheel, and the crown wheel is the umbrella. Consider the body to be in the form of a stupa. Then, at the crown, visualize an indestructible bindu, whose nature is (Tibetan: ཧཾ་; Sanskrit Devanagari: हं; Sanskrit Romanization: haṃ; Chinese literal meaning: Hum), about the size of a bean. By holding the gentle breath naturally, the blazing light of tummo rises upwards, striking the bindu at the crown, from which light rays emanate, pervading the expanse of space. Accomplish the deeds of the Buddhas. All appearances of samsara and nirvana dissolve and converge, dissolving into the bindu at the crown. Then, from the dissolving, visualize your own root guru, his body blissful, radiating splendor, abiding in the form of a crest jewel. By holding the mind on that for a long time, the guru also dissolves into the nature of great bliss, dripping from the Brahma aperture, gently dissolving into the heart center. In the state where the guru's mind and your own mind are blended as one, abandoning without fabrication, appearances
