It is so. Thus it is said. The reason is that, in order not to waste the opportunity of those to be tamed, or for the sake of (benefiting beings). The Acharya should be proficient in the faults of samsara and the merits of nirvana, and after maturing the continuum through the common vehicle, he should be skilled in all the means of entering the uncommon vehicle. If one knows nothing about some aspects of the Sutra and Tantra vehicles, one cannot be regarded as an Acharya, this comes from the Ocean of Tantras. Secondly, there are two parts: brief explanation and detailed explanation. Firstly: Thus, due to the difference in views, the asceticism and vows associated with it will also have many distinctions of differences that enter each other. If we distinguish in detail, it is not enough to mention, but here, it is considered that it can be divided into two types: direct and indirect. Secondly, there are two parts: those arising indirectly and the actual meaning of the main point. Firstly: Among them, those who do not have asceticism are: ordinary worldly people and extremists. The reason is: these people do not practice asceticism for the sake of obtaining liberation, but for the sake of the benefits of the next life, because they only value the pleasures of this life. Secondly: What is it that has asceticism? There are four types, namely worldly asceticism and three transcendental asceticisms. Among them, the first is the Lokayata and the Tirthikas: The Lokayata abides in the various practices of secret mantras for accomplishing life and wealth, etc., and the Tirthikas seek the liberation they desire and practice asceticism that causes suffering to the body, such as the five fires and the cow vow. However, in the Pramanavarttika it says, "Loving-kindness etc. are not contrary to delusion, therefore they cannot completely cut off faults." And "This can exhaust heaviness, but since it is not corporeal, sin is not heavy." etc., as it is said. Because these schools do not practice the path that directly contradicts the root of existence and attachment, no matter what they do, they cannot transcend the world, that is, the realm of existence. Mati Citra said, "Those who turn away from your teachings, blinded by ignorance, even if they reach the peak of existence, will still suffer, because they are still within existence."

Practice. Thus it is said. Therefore, it is said, "worldly asceticism." Regarding the future, there are the asceticism of the Hearers, the asceticism of the Bodhisattvas, and the unsurpassed asceticism, etc. The meaning is exhausted there. Again, it is taught in the scriptures that wandering is without asceticism because of ignorance of cause and effect. Nihilists are without asceticism because they see it as annihilation. The Lokayatas are those who have asceticism such as cleanliness in order to accomplish the special features of this life. The heretics believe that there is a permanent "self," and in order to purify it, they torment the body, rely on the five fires, etc., and practice asceticism and wrong livelihood. These are easy to understand. The asceticism of the Hearers, in the Vinaya Sutra, it says: "Do no evil, cultivate all good, purify your mind, this is the teaching of all Buddhas." This means that, mainly with the higher training in discipline, cutting off the path of evil deeds is "do no evil"; mainly with the higher training in concentration, abiding in the cycle of abandonment and meditation is "cultivate all good"; mainly with the higher training in wisdom, cutting off the bonds of afflictions is "purify your mind." The key points of the Buddha's teachings are all gathered here. The boundary here is that all good and non-good dharmas are considered to exist separately as truly established in both conventional and ultimate truth, and are guided by a special mind of renunciation, properly taking the Pratimoksha vows, practicing good deeds, and abandoning the asceticism and discipline of evil deeds. It mainly goes to the boundary of the words of the first sentence. Regarding the view that good and evil are established in both truths, although there are many ways of arguing, if it is according to the view of the Hearer school, it does not seem to contradict any view. The asceticism of the Bodhisattvas, in the "Twenty Verses on the Bodhisattva Vows," it says: "Do not act for the benefit of circumstances, do not perform miracles, threats, etc., be compassionate and loving, a good heart has no faults." This means that sentient beings
