If all dharmas are grasped by the mind of great compassion that desires to liberate all beings from the suffering of samsara, then all dharmas will become Mahayana. Although it is said that there are ten meanings of the word "dharma," here it refers to calling the path "dharma." Therefore, whether one practices virtue or non-virtue in appearance or in reality, the bodhisattva's vows will not be broken, because the bodhisattva's vows are based on great compassion. Just as in the tantras of skillful means in the Great Secret, the leader (dpon) is a manifestation of great compassion. Therefore, this statement means that the actions of the bodhisattvas, such as generosity and other skillful means and wisdom, are called the accumulations of merit and wisdom because they depend on great compassion. If it is grasped by great compassion and is for the benefit of sentient beings, then even actions such as killing and intimidation will become accumulations of virtue, let alone other actions. But it is definitely not like teaching killing as the ascetic vow of the sons of the Victorious Ones. The details need to be understood from the commentary on the Twenty Verses of Glorious Shantarakshita. The supreme tantric asceticism is, as stated in the Great Samaya Sutra: "If one is completely certain in the Buddha's vehicle, even if one enjoys the five desires of affliction, it is like a lotus in the mud, and for him, the discipline is perfect." It is said that, as stated in the Vajra Essence Ornament, the four great tantra classes were taught to counteract the four types of desire. Therefore, the disciples to be tamed for the sake of mantra must be special individuals who are able to skillfully transform afflictions into the path. Because they have the wisdom to realize that all dharmas are equal from the beginning, and the great skillful means of not abandoning disciples with compassion. If it is for the benefit of others, at the time of performing subjugation and other actions, like it is said in the sutras, if one generates anger, then in special circumstances, compassion is not to be relied upon, and anger is not to be abandoned, even if it is not intentionally abandoned, it will become an obstacle to liberation, like a worm born from wood eating the wood itself, and it will become a co-operative cause for purifying all dharmas. In Glorious First (dpal mchog dang po), first, the intention motivated by great compassion,

As it is said, some actions are to be undertaken with a mind of intense motivation. Therefore, it is shown that the motivation as the cause must be based on great compassion in any case. It is not the case that great compassion does not arise in those who have not realized the skillful means of realizing the nature of equality. In short, just as one realizes the naturally pure nature from the beginning through view, so too should the asceticism and conduct combined with that measure be practiced in a pure manner. From the beginning, it is forbidden to initiate such conduct that is not combined with one's own experience, so that the truth of peace is achieved. Just as the Ketaka flower, when eaten by other elephants, becomes dung, and when eaten by ordinary elephants, it becomes like ghee. Therefore, conduct should be combined with the measure of one's own mind. This is not only the unique conduct of the highest yoga tantra, but also the tradition of the lower tantra divisions. Thirdly, regarding the meaning of the conclusion, there are two aspects: the vessel to whom the instructions are entrusted, and the completion of what has been started. The first is: As it is said in the text of Vimalamitra: "Intelligence is sharp, profound, stable and quick," etc. If the oral instructions are not properly entrusted to a special vessel person, they will not arise in the continuum of a non-vessel, and it will become like entrusting secret mantras to demons, causing the chosen basis to degenerate, and the profound blessings of the lineage will decline. Therefore, it is said here: This great secret instruction called "Garland of Views" is not the domain of practice for foolish children, evil conceptualizers, those possessed by demons, and those with little faith in the Vajra path. Then, whose domain will it become? Just as a blind person opens the obscuration of his eyes and finds completely pure eyes, those who have light wisdom to enter the profound Dharma, and who have accumulated many collections of merit, such as the skillful means of relying on a noble spiritual friend, and who possess such talents of discernment, it will become the domain of those supreme beings. However, in the degenerate age, it is difficult to find a student with perfect fortune like the Udumbara flower. But if there are such people on the hundred paths, may we meet them and achieve meaning.
