Regarding the mentally constructed heavenly palace, It follows the well-known drawn lines of the `Vajramālā` (Tantra). The divine support, the immeasurable palace (Vimana), is so called from the sound of 'Vimana' which means immeasurable; in the `Ocean of Dakinis` (Ḍākinī-sāgara Tantra), the immeasurable palace is described as being in the form of a lotus; and in the Mahayana Sutras, it refers to the immeasurable arrangement of the great palace of liberation, and so forth. Here, concerning the tantric systems to be put into practice (133b), it exclusively speaks of a splendid palace (mansion) that is square, with four gates, and with porticos, as stated for the purpose of purification and practice of the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment (bodhipakṣa-dharma). Moreover, there are two types: mental construction (visualization) and the system of drawing. If one understands the detailed drawn lines, then even in mental construction, one will comprehend the general outline from distinctions such as protrusions and vertical erections. Generally, regarding mandalas, two types are taught: those with fixed measurements and those with unfixed measurements. Firstly, regarding the measurements determined by the deities, it is said in the `Guhyagarbha Tantra`: Three cubits for Vajradhara (Akṣobhya), Four cubits for the Buddha's (Vairocana's) mandala, Five cubits are for the Illuminator (Ratnasambhava), Six cubits for the Lord of Dance (Amitābha), And seven cubits for the King of Horses (Amoghasiddhi). Thus, it is stated that the mandalas of Akṣobhya, Vairocana, Ratnasambhava, Amitābha, and Amoghasiddhi range from three to seven cubits. In the fourth chapter of the `Guhyasamāja Root Tantra`, the mind mandala is twelve cubits; in the sixteenth chapter, the body mandala is sixteen cubits; and in the twentieth chapter, the speech mandala is twenty cubits, as stated. This refers to all four sides of the fundamental drawing (or central line). Regarding the measurements determined by the patron, it is quoted from the `Mālā Tantra`: Either a sovereign of Jambudvipa, Or a Chakravartin (wheel-turning king), Should draw an external mandala To the extent of a yojana in all directions. And from Jayasena: The mandala is considered eight cubits. For other kings, one hundred cubits, For those born in frontier regions (or common people), half of that, For chiefs (or leaders), half of that is stated. For merchants, twelve cubits, For practitioners (sādhakas), six cubits. Thus, it is taught that the measurements vary depending on the prosperity (or capacity) of the patron. Secondly, regarding the unfixed (measurements), from the `Four Hundred Fifty Verses` (134a), it says: Depending on the dispositions of sentient beings,
