That is: “Equal to me is Kun-dga'.” This statement refers to the tradition of Bodhisattva Kun-dga', who has been embraced for five lifetimes, and whose realization is no different from that of the noble ones. This collection of Dharma teachings is divided into two Among the common Dharma teachings, there are: Sutras, Tantras, and associated practices; received teachings and associated oral transmissions; immaculate subtle points and associated fine details; Dartsag's extensive explanations and associated commentaries. Of these, the first includes: the general Sutra, the *Sutra of the Manifestation Play of the River*; the specific Sutra, the *Heart Sutra*, the general Tantra, the *Clarifier of the Tripitaka*; the specific lineage, the *Great River*. Regarding practices: there are three types of empowerment cycles—great, medium, and small—and three stages of the path—great, medium, and small. Regarding oral transmissions: there are four received teachings, and four oral transmissions for eliciting the path from these. Regarding immaculate subtle points: there are six sections, including the root section of the “Immaculate Dharma-Nails,” and so forth. Regarding fine details: these are the instructions given by Patshab when Kun-dga' inquired about obstacles to well-being. Regarding Dartsag's extensive explanations: there are eight sections, including Dartsag's oral instructions, the “Nectar,” and so forth, which were Patshab’s impromptu talks, later written down on (folio 192, verso). Regarding extensive explanations: these are the explanations made by Te-ni, Zhig-po, Nyem-dowa, and others. Among the uncommon Dharma teachings, there are: the *Ten Tantras* with unique teachings; empowerments, paths, and associated instructions; the Three Secret Treasuries; the Five Path Cycles; and the Eight Volumes of the Small Compendium. The holy Kun-dga' transmitted all instructions to the learned and disciplined Patshab Gompa. He, in turn, transmitted them to Gyalwa Te-ni. From Te-ni, Rog Degsheg Chenpo Sher-od requested and received the complete received teachings of Zhije (Chöd). Thereafter, Rog Thams-cad mkhyen-pa and others transmitted it successively, and it greatly flourished. Later, when it became extremely rare, Minling Lotsawa Dharma Shri, whose karmic imprints of Rog Thams-cad mkhyen-pa awakened, diligently heard the streams of ripening and liberation teachings. He made the empowerment and instruction texts permissible for reading, and through his kindness in explaining and disseminating them, the lineage continues to exist almost without interruption to this day. Second: explaining the tradition of Chöd, which is a branch of that, divided into two parts: T1. Identifying the received teaching tradition, and T2. Explaining individual transmission lineages. First part, T1: The branch, the sacred Dharma of Chöd (Cutting through Mara), Belongs to the branch of pacifying suffering, originating from Brahmin Aryadeva and the Lord.

于是,出现了四位空行女:Gye-i Labdron、Gnyal Töd-kyi Majö Jangchub Tsang-gi Zhangmo Gyalting,以及拉萨(Lhasa)的Smyönma。

The intention of Maitripa and others, whose essence is Prajnaparamita, is the sublime Dharma called “Chöd of Māra” which is in accord with Tantra. This practice cuts off the four Māras that bind one to cyclic existence, specifically severing the mind’s grasping at notions and self-clinging. Just as felling trees requires a specific site, the “cutting ground” for the Māras of grasping at notions and self-clinging is Prajnaparamita. This is the profound instruction related to it. Secondly, [explaining the respective lineages] there are two: First, Male Chöd (Pho Chöd); Second, Female Chöd (Mo Chöd). First (Male Chöd): The holy (Dampa Sangye) gave to Kyotön and Smara Serpo (Yellow Beard), The instructions called Drul Tso Druk, which is Male Chöd. The holy father Dampa Sangye (192b) bestowed upon Kyotön Shakya Yeshe and Yarlung (雅砻) Smara Serpo the Chöd teachings of his own Sutra tradition, which was the meaning of Aryadeva’s Fifty Verses, known as the “Instructions of the Six Scattered Essences” (Drul Tso Druk). It is said that Kyotön gave four of these (Drul Tso) to his nephew Sonam Lama, who then gave them to Machig Labdron. Smara Serpo gave them to his attendant Bé-ré. From this lineage, it spread through Rong Sherab Öd and Khedrup Zhönnu Drup, among others, and is renowned as Male Chöd (Pho Chöd). Secondly (Female Chöd): The Dharma understood by Machig (Labdron) as the meaning of Prajnaparamita, Itself embodying the non-duality of father and mother (means and wisdom), The blessings of the Dakinis, and the sixteen sons. After Dampa (Sangye) came to Tibet, he saw four black miraculous Dakini birds flying in. From this arose four Dakinis: Labdron of Gye, Majö Jangchub Tsang’s aunt Gyalting from Gnyal Töd, and Smyönma from Lhasa (拉萨). Among them, Machig Labdron developed the view of emptiness by reading Prajnaparamita. With one heartfelt word from Dampa, her mindstream was liberated, and she naturally became a yogini. She extensively opened the path of the realized Dharma universally known as Chöd Yul, which arose from the profound experience of Machig herself, understanding the meaning of Prajnaparamita. She authored innumerable profound instructions, including the “Great Collection of Oral Instructions” (Kachom Chenmo), “Another Collection of Twenty-five Chapters” (Yang Tsom Leu Nyerr Ngapa), and “The Eight-Three Twenty-Four Chapters of Common, Uncommon, and Special Divisions” (Thünmong Thünmin Khyepar Gyi Leu Yanlag Gyed Sum Nyishyu Zhipa), which are still extant today. This is what is called Female Chöd (Mo Chöd). Within this, there are also: the Father Lineage (skillful means), the Mother Lineage (wisdom), the Meaning of Non-Duality, and the Lineage of Dakini Experience.
